American Ballet Theatre's 2015 season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 11-July 4, will be highlighted by the New York Premiere of an all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty, a revival of Lar Lubovitch's Othello and repertory programs featuring historic works in celebration of the Company's 75th Anniversary Season. Tickets for ABT's Spring Season at the Metropolitan Opera House go on sale at the box office on Sunday, March 22 at 9:00 A.M.

Dominic Chianese to Perform 'Beautiful Music' at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 4/11

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present 'A Night of Beautiful Music' performed by HBO 'Sopranos' star and 'Godfather' actor Dominic Chianese on Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. Dominic Chianese was born in the borough of the Bronx in New York, the son of a bricklayer. His grandfather immigrated to the United States from Naples, Italy, in 1904 and settled in the Bronx. After a decade of attending college and appearing in Off-Broadway theatre, Chianese attended his first professional acting class at HB Studio in Manhattan, with renowned teacher Walt Witcover. Drama and musical theatre became Chianese's passion. His first Broadway show was 'Oliver!' in 1965. Chianese also played rhythm guitar and sang in local taverns and restaurants to supplement his income.

In 1965, legendary Motown songwriter Ron Miller penned the lyrics to 'For Once In My Life,' which became a timeless classic covered by hundreds of major label artists over the past five decades, including its breakthrough hit recording by Stevie Wonder in 1968, which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009. Miller passed away in 2007. Now, Miller's grandson, 14-year-old singer and multi-talented performer Oliver Richman (www.oliverrichman.com), celebrates the 50th anniversary of the song's composition and his grandfather's great legacy with a lush and intimate recording of the beloved standard. Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation presents its second season at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center -- Three Dog Night on Saturday, January 10 at 8 pm; The Four Tops on Saturday, February 21 at 8 pm; Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Friday, March 27 at 8 pm; The Muppet Movie Sing-a-Long on Saturday, May 16 at 2 pm and Dick Fox Doo Wop Extravaganza on Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. This four concert season, and the additional attraction The Muppet Movie Sing-A-Long, is presented by the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation and is a means of raising funds to support arts in the schools and maintain this new, state-of-the-art facility.

Today in 1965, Oliver! opened at the Martin Beck Theatre, where it ran for 64 performances. Oliver! is a British musical, with script, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart. The musical is based upon the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. It premiered in the West End in 1960, enjoying a long run, a successful Broadway production in 1963 and further tours and revivals. It was made into a musical film in 1968. Major London revivals played from 1994-1998 and again from 2009-2011.

Composer and Conductor Ennio Morricone Suffers Back Injury; Postpones LA, Brooklyn Shows to June 2014

The Italian composer Ennio Morricone, who turned 85 in November, has suffered a back injury that has forced the postponement of concerts originally dated March 20 in Los Angeles and March 23 in Brooklyn. The shows have been rescheduled for June 13 at Cushman & Wakefield Theater at Barclays Center in Brooklyn and June 15 at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, where he will conduct an ensemble of 200 musicians and singers in performances of his legendary film scores. The concerts will be, respectively, his first New York appearance since 2007 and his first-ever Los Angeles concert.

The benefit begins with a VIP Cocktail Hour at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm begins the dinner, program and music.
