Britt Byrd takes on the challenging role of Carnelle Scott in The Larry Keeton Theatre's upcoming production of Beth Henley's The Miss Firecracker Contest, running at the Donelson theater April 14-30 – the first presentation of a non-musical at The Keeton in quite some time, according to producer Jamie London.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) and OBERON are pleased to present the TEAM's RoosevElvis, created by Rachel Chavkin, Libby King, Jake Margolin, and Kristein Sieh with Matt Hubbs, Andrew Schneider, and Nick Vaughan, directed by Rachel Chavkin. The production runs May 6-29 at OBERON, 2 Arrow Street, Cambridge.

The 2016 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will return for the 51st season with five free outdoor concerts, conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, on the Great Lawn in Central Park, Manhattan (June 15 and 16); Prospect Park, Brooklyn (June 17); Cunningham Park, Queens (June 20); and Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx (June 21).

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) continues its 56th season with The Mountaintop, Katori Hall's daring reimagining of a seminal event in American history, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn. The Mountaintop plays from April 15 through May 8- performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm at the theatre.

Laura Benanti (Amalia), Zachary Levi (Georg), Gavin Creel (Kodaly), Michael McGrath (Sipos), Jane Krakowski (Ilona) and Byron Jennings (Maraczek) star in Roundabout's new Broadway production of SHE LOVES ME, directed by Scott Ellis, choreographed by Warren Carlyle with musical direction by Paul Gemignani. SHE LOVES ME officially opens tonight, March 17, 2016, and runs through July 10, 2016 at Studio 54 on Broadway. Damian Woetzel continues his DEMO series uniting artists around a common theme, April 22-23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. This installment of the multi-genre series features Memphis jookin' dance pioneer Lil Buck, along with fellow jooker Ron "Prime Tyme" Myles, and musicians Sandeep Das (tabla), Johnny Gandelsman (violin), Cristina Pato (gaita), Wu Tong (sheng), David Teie (cello), and singer, song-writer, and multi-instrumentalist Kate Davis. This adventurous cast of musicians and dancers will explore, through their performances, the worlds they came from, collaboratively reinventing their own instruments and art forms around the theme of Place.

The 2015/2016 FirstWorks Artistic Icons Series closes with singer and songwriter Rosanne Cash in her only New England tour appearance of the season with her full band for 'The River & the Thread,' live in concert on Sunday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. at The Vets (1 Avenue of the Arts, Providence). Tickets are $28-$75 (prices include a $3 restoration fee). The $75 premium ticket includes a post-show bourbon tasting reception with Rosanne Cash. The 15th annual Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by AT&T, today announced a further expansion of TV with a new program, Tribeca Tune In.

There is magic in midtown. Memphis is stagestruck -- moreso than ever, and with a surplus of talent! (Investors call the new vitality and nightlife 'gentrification,' I call it a renaissance because the arts are thriving all around us.) In one square mile, there are more shows each weekend than an avid theatre goer has time to enjoy. This month, yet another tantalizing choice appeared on the calendar. Cloud9 Theatre Company just closed its inaugural show at the Evergreen Theatre. (I was sorry I couldn't get there opening night.) Based on what I saw, we have another local gem. What fun to live and work in the midst of so much creative energy!

Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) and the CSO Youth Orchestras (CSOYO) present a unique event, featuring not only two of the youth orchestras in concert (Symphony and Philharmonic), but also the CSO Orchestra and the CSOYO Symphony combined. Giving students the chance to play alongside professional musicians provides invaluable musical education opportunities for the up-and-coming musicians. This event will provide CSOYO students a chance to learn more about their craft by working alongside the CSO musicians on classical masterworks by popular composers such as Rossini and Liszt. Featured in the program are the top two winners of the 2015 CSOYO Concerto Competition, Hannah Eitzen and Sasha Hitachi-Kizziah.
