Monty Python's Spamalot, the 2005 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical, returns to Minneapolis for a limited engagement of only three performances, Friday and Saturday, March 15-16, 2013 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre. Lovingly "ripped off" from the internationally famous comedy team's most popular motion picture, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," it turns the legendary tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on its head with a chorus line of dancing divas, knights in tights, flatulent Frenchman and killer rabbits. The Rubin Museum Explores Illusion in 2013 BRAINWAVE Series, Opening Today

The Rubin Museum will explore illusion and human perception in this year's edition of the popular Brainwave series of on-stage conversations between mind scientists and thinkers from diverse walks of life. Opening today, February 6, the series will include 20 on-stage conversations, 50 film screenings, and an interactive experience in which the museum will become a Memory Palace. While illusion is usually associated with vision, the series will engage audiences through all five senses to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

This January, Flat Earth Theatre celebrates the legacy of legendary Czech playwright, president, and revolutionary leader Vaclav Havel with a production of his absurd comedy,The Memorandum, in an English translation by Vera Blackwell. When an office abruptly adopts a new "scientific" language, Ptydepe, a bewildered executive is forced to navigate a labyrinth of red tape in an effort to have an indecipherable memo translated. First performed in Prague under the shadow of Soviet-backed totalitarianism, The Memorandum lampoons the bureaucratic appropriation of language with a satirical spin still representative of today's global office culture.

Cygnet Theatre to Kick Off Season 11 with Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY, 7/5-8/18

Cygnet Theatre announced today that it will kick off its 2013-14 Season with Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical COMPANY. Cygnet has had a successful history of staging Sondheim musicals including critically-acclaimed runs of Sweeney Todd and A Little Night Music. They will be staging the thought-provoking Assassins in March as part of the current 10th Anniversary Season. The full line up for Season 11 will be announced at a later date.

The Alhambra Theatre & Dining will be rocking southern style when it opens it 2013 campaign with the renowned Johnny Cash tribute show, 'Ring of Fire, the Johnny Cash Musical Show.' The show features eight actors and a four-piece live band, bringing theatrical life to Cash's classic story songs. A true tribute to the man and his music, the show does not actually feature an actor playing Cash, who died in 2003, but it does chronicle his most-interesting life - from his debut at the Grand Ole Opry to Folsom County Prison and back to stardom. The show opened in 2006 at Broadway's Barrymore Theatre.
