Broadway By the Bay, the Peninsula based award-winning musical theater company, announced today the four musicals that will make up their 2018 season. Launching the season in March 2018 will be the 1957 musical theater classic, The Music Man. Summer will kick off like a great ball of fire with the hit rock-n-roll musical Million Dollar Quartet, followed by the 70s disco-era hit Saturday Night Fever. The season will come to a close with Elton John and Tim Rice's Tony Award-winning adaptation of Verdi's AIDA. Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents South Africa: Then & Now, a dynamic spring repertory that takes audience members back to the depths of Apartheid, before moving forward to the ongoing search for truth and reconciliation in a wounded country. The repertory launches with Athol Fugard's seminal masterpiece, BLOOD KNOT (March 29-April 30, 2017)-an intimate parable about a brotherhood devastated by the constraints of Apartheid-under the direction of Studio Theatre Founding Artistic Director Joy Zinoman, making her Mosaic Theater Company debut.

The 16th annual Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of 57 thought-provoking and diverse short films in competition, including 36 world premieres. The selected shorts, 40% of which were directed by women, and include filmmakers from every corner of the globe, were curated from a record 4,385 submissions. They will be presented in 10 distinct competition programs, consisting of five narrative, four documentary, and, for the second year, one animated program. In addition, there is the Sports Shorts program as part of the 11th annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival, sponsored by Mohegan Sun. The Shorts program, sponsored by Nutella Originals, is a part of the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, which runs April 19-30.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA is a 2013 Tony Award winning stage adaptation of the 1957 musical for television starring Julie Andrews, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The new book by Douglas Carter Beane is based partly on Hammerstein's original 1957 book. The piece was remade twice for television, once in 1965 and again in 1997, and was adapted for the stage in various versions prior to the 2013 Broadway adaptation. The 2013 score features several Rodgers and Hammerstein songs that weren't in any previous version, including one trunk song originally written for, but eventually cut from, South Pacific. The new songs include 'Me, Who Am I?', 'Now Is the Time', 'The Pursuit', 'Loneliness of Evening' and 'There's Music in You'.

San Francisco Opera's 2016-17 Season opens Friday, September 9 with a gala performance of Umberto Giordano's Andrea Chenier in a new production by Sir David McVicar. Company Music Director Nicola Luisotti leads a stellar cast, including three international stars making their San Francisco Opera debuts in the demanding lead roles: South Korean tenor Yonghoon Lee in the title role, Italian soprano Anna Pirozzi as Maddalena di Coigny and Georgian baritone George Gagnidze as Carlo Gerard. The opening night festivities are distinguished by San Francisco Opera Guild's glamorous Opera Ball 2016: La Revolution et L'Amour and BRAVO! Club's Annual Opening Night Gala. The opening of the Company's 94th season also marks the beginning of Matthew Shilvock's inaugural season as General Director. Shilvock is the seventh General Director in the Company's history.

BTG's exciting revival is the first ever full-scale New York City and Off-Broadway revival of the hit musical.
