Fifty-two high school students from across America will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress.The talent showcase will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances.

Portland Shakespeare Project is thrilled to announce an innovative new play reading series in partnership with Proscenium Journal. The Boston Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Andris Nelsons have entered into a new partnership to create Classical Live, a unique initiative that offers a new paradigm for the distribution of live recordings of classical music available only on Google Play Music. Classical Live will offer participating orchestras—the BSO, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, and Amsterdam's Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra—an opportunity to release up to four live concert recordings each season for download exclusively on Google Play Music with the first recordings to be made available at music.google.com or classical-live.com beginning on June 15.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of an exciting new American play, Rich Girl, by acclaimed playwright Victoria Stewart, continuing the Globe's 80th Anniversary festivities as part of the Balboa Park Centennial Celebration. Rich Girl will be directed by James Vasquez (Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show), and will play May 23 - June 21, 2015, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

The Juilliard School will confer honorary doctorates on five remarkable artists during its 110th Commencement Ceremony today, May 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center (Broadway at 65th Street, New York City). Suzanne Farrell, Nicholas Hytner (pictured, left), Murray Perahia, Dianne Reeves, and Peter Sellars will be honored at Juilliard's May 2015 Commencement Ceremony.

Howard Davies will direct Steve Waters' new play TEMPLE, a fictionalised account of the events that took place during the 2011 Occupy demonstration outside St Paul's Cathedral. Simon Russell Beale will return to the Donmar stage to play the Dean having previously starred in The Philanthropist, Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya (for which he won the 2003 Olivier Award for Best Actor). The show starts tonight, May 21, with an official opening slated for May 27. TEMPLE runs through July 25, 2015.

With Tamara Harvey's production of Pride &Prejudice to open shortly in the Crucible, Artistic Director Daniel Evans today announces the cast for his production of Lucy Prebble's The Effect - Stuart Bunce (Toby), Priyanga Burford (Dr James), Ophelia Lovibond (Connie), Henry Pettigrew (Tristan). The production opens on 30 June, with previews from 25 June, and runs until 18 July.
