The New Group launches its 2013-2014 Off-Broadway season with the New York premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley's The Jacksonian, arriving in Fall 2013. Directed by Tony Award winner Robert Falls, this production features Ed Harris, Glenne Headly, Amy Madigan and Bill Pullman. The Jacksonian was first produced at the Geffen Playhouse in 2012. In Winter 2014, as the second production in the company's season, The New Group delivers the world premiere of Thomas Bradshaw's Intimacy, directed by Scott Elliott. The third production of The New Group's upcoming season is to be announced.

Julio Botti's ZOHO Music debut, TANGO NOSTALGIAS, introduces a fresh new voice to the nuevo tango movement pioneered decades ago by Astor Piazzolla and Pablo Ziegler, Piazzolla's longtime pianist and a prolific composer and producer in his own right. For this coming out party for the young Argentinian saxophonist, an instrument not normally associated with tango music, Ziegler has re-arranged some of his most potent compositions specifically with Botti's soaring soprano horn in mind.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts' popular summer concert series Frist Fridays kicks off Friday, June 28 with a performance by the Chattanooga-based band The MaleMen. Now in its eleventh season, Frist Fridays take place on the final Friday of June, July and August from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m in the Center's Turner Courtyard. Patrons are invited to enjoy an evening of live music, light snacks and beverages as well as the diverse exhibitions on view in the Frist Center's galleries. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the events. Frist Fridays take place rain or shine.

Singer-songwriter Pegi Young is once again hitting the road with her acclaimed recording and touring band, The Survivors: legendary keyboard player Spooner Oldham , bassist Rick Rosas , guitarist Kelvin Holly , and drummer Phil Jones . Pegi Young & The Survivors will appear on Late Show with David Letterman tonight, January 30th before they head out on a string of tour dates, including four shows in support of 10,000 Maniacs. Now, Disney Theatrical Productions has confirmed that Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, will play its pre-Broadway engagement at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre(formerly the Canon) November 13, 2013 to January 12, 2014 and will open at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014. The show will feature music by Alan Menken; lyrics by the late Howard Ashman, Tim Rice and Chad Beguelin with a book by Beguelin. Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph.

Grammy Winner Midge Ure has announced plans for a solo US tour in January 2013 which will be the first time he performs in the US in a decade. The tour kicks off in Long Island New York on the 8th of January with the only acoustic show on the trek and winds up on the west coast in LA on January 26th. The last tour Midge did across the US was all acoustic in 2001 - this will also be the first tour with a full band since 1985. Right The Stars will be opening the shows and will also provide backing for Midge Ure.
