In January 2016, The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCTC), the country's oldest theater for young audiences, will open a new destination for theater education, expanding its reach into the community. With this new building comes the creation of a new leadership infrastructure capitalizing upon existing internal talent.

Glenn Close will star as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, the second production in the partnership between English National Opera (ENO) and theGradeLinnit Company.   With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, Sunset Boulevard is produced by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd and is based on the original Paramount film by Billy Wilder.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

White Oak of Garner presents BROADWAY VOICES, starring Hugh Panaro, Carly Hughes, and David Burnham. Early bird season ticket special is available through September 30.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced details of the world premiere of Donald Fowler's musical CREEP. The musical will open WaterTower Theatre's 2015-2016 Season on Monday, October 5, 2015 (with previews on Friday, October 2, Saturday, October 3, and a Gala Preview performance on Sunday, October 4). Kate Galvin, Associate Producer at the 11th Hour Theatre Company in Philadelphia, will direct. CREEP is produced by Terry Martin.

The Muny announced today the cast for its production of Oklahoma! (August 10 -16) directed by Rob Ruggiero, choreographed by Susan Stroman and music directed by Kevin Stites. Ginger Thatcher will restage Ms. Stroman's choreography.

Victoria Theatre Association (VTA) and the Arts Center Foundation (ACF) presented their 2014-2015 Community Report at today's annual meeting, held in the Mathile Theatre at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. The meeting celebrated a report revealing more than 42,000 tickets sold to new patrons during the 2014-2015 Season, a successful launch of The Next Stage Endowment Campaign, and more than 22,000 students from more than 17 counties and 51 school districts participating in The Frank M. The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the West Coast Premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a new work by one of America's great comic playwrights, familiar to millions for Lend Me a Tenor and Crazy for You. Baskerville is directed by Josh Rhodes, who previously choreographed the Globe's productions of Bright Star and Working, as well as Broadway's It Shoulda Been You, First Date, and Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on July 24, with opening night on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m., in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Although originally scheduled to run through August 23, Baskerville has been extended by popular demand through August 30, 2015!

We pride ourselves on our bounteous Southern hospitality here in Nashville, so who's gonna explain this: On Thursday, as thousands of country music fans gathered downtown for CMA Fest and thousands more fans of every musical genre you can think of were headed southward for the Bonnaroo Music Festival - just another summer in Tennessee, mind you - a truck spilled its load all over Interstate 65-S, adding to the hot, humid atmosphere with a whole mess of fish parts.
