If it was possible to like... or rather, LOOOVE... the Broadway musical KINKY BOOTS even more so than one already does, the lovable, fresh-faced cast of the musical's current first national tour is certainly making a really good case for it. An all-around spectacular stage show in every sense of the word, the 2013 six-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical's current North American traveling company---now back in Los Angeles for an all-too brief two-week run at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood through April 24---very much lives up to its rousing, crowd-pleasing reputation thrice over. Complicite Associates today announce further dates for the world premiere of a new musical A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer with book by Bryony Kimmings and Brian Lobel, music by Tom Parkinson and lyrics by Bryony Kimmings. Presented as a co-production with the National Theatre and in association with HOME Manchester, the production opens at HOME from 20 to 24 September 2016, and then tours to Exeter Northcott from 28 September - 2 October, before completing its run at the National Theatre from 14 October to 29 November.

IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA has been renewed for seasons 13 and 14 on FXX, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions.

Rarely does a playwright's first play become an instant hit, but when Anna Longaretti's poignant comedy Sex Cells was first presented in 2013 at the Riverside Studios, London, it left audiences laughing and crying in equal measure. The play also drew critical acclaim. Sex Cells is soon to have its Australian Premiere, when Adelaide's Galleon Theatre Group presents it at the Domain Theatre, Marion Cultural Centre.

The greater Binghamton area's longest running Equity theatre will celebrate its 10th anniversary season by premiering four plays never seen before in this region.  Included are two new plays just beginning to be produced around the country.  Both are from authors whose previous work has been seen exclusively on CRT's stage in the Southern Tier. 

The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE announces the two original book musicals which have been selected for this year's two-week summer lab:  Blessing, music and lyrics by Andrew R. Butler and book by Andrew Farmer, directed by Kent Nicholson; and The White City, music by Avi Amon and book and lyrics by Julia Gytri, directed by Mark Brokaw. The 2016 Institute, which runs June 12-25 at Yale School of Drama, will culminate with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 24 and 25.

Philadelphia Theatre Company has just announced its 2016/17 season, with four plays and one musical that showcase work by some of the most exciting and provocative playwrights in America.

A slate of 4 vibrant and kinetic new LGBTQ+ plays and 1 musical have emerged as finalists in Pride Films and Plays' 2016 Great Gay Play and Musical Contest. They come from writers across the United States, and were selected by a reading team from across the country doing blind readings of the manuscripts. Those five scripts will be performed as Enhanced Staged Readings at the Center On Halsted's Hoover-Leppen, 3540 N Halsted, during Gay Play and Musical Weekend which is April 22 to 24, 2016.
