Over the next three years, the Enright family is supporting Darlinghurst Theatre Company to produce three plays by the renowned Australian playwright including Daylight Saving in 2014, as well as two other works in 2015 and 2016.

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Principal Flute Lorna McGhee headlines “Divine Travel,“ part of the BNY Mellon Grand Classics series, on October 24 and 26 at Heinz Hall.
Guest conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier returns to lead the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in excerpts from Grieg's “Peer Gynt,” written for Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play of the same name. It recounts the downfall and subsequent redemption of a Norwegian peasant anti-hero. McGhee will shine in Nielsen's Flute Concerto, which was last heard by Pittsburgh Symphony audiences in 1987. Sibelius' romantic Symphony No. 5, which was the composer's response to popular musical modernism of the time, closes the program.

Calgary-based Honens International Piano Competition will begin accepting applications for its eighth edition beginning September 30, 2014. The Competition's Quarterfinals take place in Berlin, London and New York in spring, 2015. Semifinals and Finals take place in Calgary from September 3 to 12, 2015. Pianists of all nationalities, aged 20 to 30 on September 3, 2015 (with the exception of past Honens Laureates and professionally managed pianists), may apply until February 2, 2015 at honens.com.

The Old Vic today announced its programme for Summer/Autumn 2014. The CQS Space, The Old Vic in the round, will be home to the whole season of productions, continuing after Other Desert Cities which opens this month. The plays will be performed in the round, a transformation of The Old Vic's auditorium first seen for the award-winning 2008 production of The Norman Conquests.
