Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Dame Judi Dench will be donating the replica of the Rose Theatre used in the 1998 Oscar-winning film Shakespeare In Love (for which the Dame herself received a trophy), gifted to her by the film's producers.

Jane Alexander and Stockard Channing will appear in Sir David Hare's witty and elegant 'The Breath of Life' at Westport Country Playhouse, September 29 through October 17. Mark Lamos, named artistic director in February 2009 at the historic theater in Westport, Connecticut, will direct. 'The Breath of Life' will be the final production in the Playhouse's six-play 2009 season.

Next summer, from 26 May to 30 August 2009, a new production of JM Barrie's Peter Pan will be performed in the specially commissioned Neverland Pavilion in London's historic Kensington Gardens.

Tony award-winning performer Alan Cumming has been named an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) as part of the Queen's Birthday Honour List. Other comandees include Tony award winner Jonathan Pryce, who was named a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) and veteran Film and television actor Christopher Lee, who received a knighthood.

The Canadian Stage Company is pleased to announce the Martin Bragg Endowment Fund, established in honour of outgoing Artistic Producer Martin Bragg. The program features Milhaud's jazz-inspired The Creation of the World; George Walker's 1996 Pulitzer Prize-winning work Lilacs for voice and orchestra, with tenor Russell Thomas as soloist in its first Philadelphia Orchestra performances; Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer, a work for which the late, great contralto Marian Anderson was known, with Philadelphia-native bass-baritone Eric Owens as soloist; and Dvoř?k's Symphony No. 9 in E minor ('From the New World').

This is Zimmerman's sixth trip to Berkeley Rep, and for the first time she works her magic on the intimate Thrust Stage. The Arabian Nights runs from November 13 through January 4 with the official press night on November 19.
