UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama presents the classic Broadway musical, Man of La Mancha, tonight, November 14 - 22, 2015. The show marks the first performance in the 'Care/Cure/Corruption' Series for the 2015-16 Drama season. The production also marks the department's return to the Irvine Barclay Theatre stage.

Steppenwolf Extends 1984

Due to popular demand, Steppenwolf for Young Adults (SYA) extends the critically acclaimed production of George Orwell's 1984, adapted by Andrew White and directed by SYA Artistic and Educational Director Hallie Gordon. Hailed as "highly recommended…chilling, hard-hitting" (Chicago Sun-Times) and "a skillful blend of grimy proletariat despair and slick multimedia collage" (Chicago Tribune), 1984 adds three additional public performances, extending the run through November 21, 2015 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre with the original cast. Tickets ($20; $15 with student ID) to the added performances are now on sale through Audience Services (1650 N Halsted St) at 312-335-1650 and steppenwolf.org.

Jaap van Zweden Leads New York Philharmonic in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 This Weekend

Jaap van Zweden will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23, with Artist-in-Association Inon Barnatan as soloist; Britten's Sinfonia da Requiem; and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. The performances take place tonight, October 29, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 p.m.
