The 52nd Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards will be presented tonight at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. Set your clocks and pop your popcorn... the Oscars are just TWO days away! While the annual salute to Hollywood's best and brightest has never been as 'full-on Broadway' as, say, that other theatrical celebration typically held in June, we can't deny that recent ceremonies have contained a bit more theatrical glitz than not, thanks in no small part to the rising popularity of the movie musical.  With Lin-Manuel Miranda among the roster of nominees, and Pasek and Paul's global phenom LA LA LAND poised to take home Oscar gold, there's no doubt that trend will continue throughout this Sunday's ceremony. (And trust me, we Broadway buffs couldn't be happier!)  So, to celebrate… we've compiled a list of the most prominent 'Broadway-fied' Oscar moments of the last decade, featuring Tony winners, big Broadway numbers, and a whole lotta that aforementioned flash. Producer Q Theatricals announced today that after critically acclaimed and award winning productions in Seattle, New Jersey and Boston the new musical, ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME, will begin performances on Friday, April 14, 2017 and officially open on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd Street). This strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, June 11th only.

Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, the Vice President of Programs at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, announced the winners: Michael Almereyda's Marjorie Prime won the Feature Film Prize; Adam Benic's Levittown (Sundance Institute | Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Episodic Storytelling Grant); Darcy Brislin and Dyana Winkler's Bell (Sundance Institute | Sloan Lab Fellowship); and Jamie Dawson and Howard Gertler's Untitled Smallpox Eradication Project (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant).
