Outrageous situations lead to hilarious complications in the legendary musical, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum opening on the Main Stage at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Friday, June 25. With previews June 23 and 24, Forum continues through July 11. Ticket prices range from $25 to $53.

The Saint Michael's Playhouse opens its 2010 season of professional summer theater Tuesday, June 15, in the McCarthy Arts Center at Saint Michael's College, with the Broadway musical comedy, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.

A new developmental production of Platinum (www.PlatinumTheMusical.com) starring Tony Award nominee Liz Larsen (The Most Happy Fella, A New Brain) and Sarah Litzsinger (Beauty and the Beast, Amour) will be presented by UnsungMusicalsCo. Presented by Atlanta Lyric Theatre, on Friday, May 7th, Chita Rivera will perform for one night only at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta in honor of Atlanta Lyric Theatre's 30th anniversary year fundraising celebration. Featuring a medley of songs highlighting her legendary Broadway career, this performance continues Rivera's tour of her self-titled concert, Chita Rivera: My Broadway.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.

The non-traditional musical, led by Broadway and television star Harry Groener, has a cast of five (a glamorous but slightly jaded couple, a starry-eyed younger couple and a savvy observer) who sing more than 30 songs that reflect their lives, lifestyles and moods of the moment. Some of the songs will be familiar, some less so, a few were even cut from their original musical scores, but they are all sophisticated, smart and drop-dead droll. All, in other words, Sondheim.

Broadway In Chicago is excited to announce Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley will reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster in the first national tour of The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein. Variety reports that the much rumored story that Guy Ritchie is readying a remake of 'GUYS & DOLLS' has bothered the rights holders of the musical so much that they sought out the Ritchie's reps to find out how he could be working a movie they hadn't given a blessing to in the first place.

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake may be headed to the silver screen in Guy Richie's upcoming remake of GUYS AND DOLLS. The performer is said to have agreed to star in one of Richie's new films, and the pair 'shook hands over a whisky at the Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair' to confirm the arrangement, reports Britain's The Sun.

The UK Sun is reporting that filmmaker Guy Ritchie is reportedly in Hollywood to begin writing a script for a big screen remake of Guys And Dolls.
