For decades, The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) has presented summer Saturday night family entertainment featuring old favorites in many popular genres, tribute bands, and occasional Christian rock. But this year, OGCMA is making a bold, unprecedented choice in presenting the first Christian rap artists ever to appear in The Great Auditorium. Two of the most popular, hit-making, award-winning rap artists, Lecrae and Andy Mineo, will strut their stuff there on Saturday, July 28, at 7:00 pm. The Auditorium is located at Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways in Ocean Grove, NJ. As athletes and coaches prepare to take the stage during sports' biggest awards week, Gatorade honors two high school coaches - Wendell Phillips Academy's Troy McAllister and Dillard's Marcia Pinder - with the 2018 Gatorade Coaching Excellence Award. Keys N Krates' ode to classic R&B delivers a healthy dose of electronic soul on “Music To My Ears,” featuring fellow Canadian and Grammy-nominated vocalist Tory Lanez. Taken from the Toronto trio's debut album Cura, dynamic strings and reverberant bass provide a joyous backbone to Lanez's uplifting hook. Today the official music video for “Music To My Ears” premieres on THE FADER. Premium pay television network EPIX® has announced the 16 fighters who will be facing off with one another for the championship belt on the revival of boxing franchise series The Contender this fall. The Theater at the 14th Street Y continues to honor the edgy, diverse, and rich history of innovative culture-making in the East Village with the 2018-2019 Season. The Season kicks-off on September 5, 2018 and runs through May 2019. All productions are chosen through a submission process and are co-presented by the Theater at the 14th Street Y. Hundreds of artists apply every year to join the programming and have artistic discourse over a chosen theme.

On June 25, The Resident Acting Company (www.racnyc.org), a new troupe drawn from the performing ensemble of The Pearl Theatre Company, will present a staged reading of 'The Big Night' (1928) by humorist Dawn Powell, a harsh, biting comedy about a woman whose husband has been fired from an advertising agency.  The play was the author's masterpiece but failed on Broadway in a production of The Group Theatre. The version to be offered is a restoration by Michael Sexton from the author's original notes and drafts.  It retains some of the Group Theatre's 'improvements' but includes the author's original ending.  The reading will be at 7:00 PM at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, directed by Bradford Cover, Artistic Director of the troupe.
