Lookingglass Theatre Company announces an extension of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas adapted by David Kersnar and Althos Low, from the books by Jules Verne, directed by Ensemble Member David Kersnar. Due to high ticket demand, additional dates, August 30 - September 9, 2018, have been added. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas plays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. This marks the second and final extension of the production.

For decades, The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association (OGCMA) has presented summer Saturday night family entertainment featuring old favorites in many popular genres, tribute bands, and occasional Christian rock. But this year, OGCMA is making a bold, unprecedented choice in presenting the first Christian rap artists ever to appear in The Great Auditorium. Two of the most popular, hit-making, award-winning rap artists, Lecrae and Andy Mineo, will strut their stuff there on Saturday, July 28, at 7:00 pm. The Auditorium is located at Pilgrim and Ocean Pathways in Ocean Grove, NJ. VIP tickets, which include seating in the first two rows, a meet-and-greet with the artists, and autographed photos are $49. As athletes and coaches prepare to take the stage during sports' biggest awards week, Gatorade honors two high school coaches - Wendell Phillips Academy's Troy McAllister and Dillard's Marcia Pinder - with the 2018 Gatorade Coaching Excellence Award. On June 25, The Resident Acting Company (www.racnyc.org), a new troupe drawn from the performing ensemble of The Pearl Theatre Company, will present a staged reading of 'The Big Night' (1928) by humorist Dawn Powell, a harsh, biting comedy about a woman whose husband has been fired from an advertising agency. The play was the author's masterpiece but failed on Broadway in a production of The Group Theatre. The version to be offered is a restoration by Michael Sexton from the author's original notes and drafts. It retains some of the Group Theatre's 'improvements' but includes the author's original ending. The reading will be at 7:00 PM at The Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, directed by Bradford Cover, Artistic Director of the troupe.
