Playwright Danai Gurira and director Liesl Tommy joined the cast of Broadway's Eclipsed tonight where she surprised the audience during the curtain call and announced plans for Carole Shorenstein Hays to bring the Tony Award-nominated play to the Curran for a limited engagement next spring. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, the most iconic leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, along with Wally Hays (Deputy Director of the Curran) were there for the announcement and dedicated the evening's performance to two of the abducted and still missing 218 schoolgirls of Chikbok, Northern Nigeria, and abducted girls all around the world, as part of the show's ongoing series of dedications that was launched by U2 lead singer Bono and Ms. Gurira last month.

Just yesterday, Eclipsed playwright and star of 'The Walking Dead' Danai Gurira appeared onstage for a special curtain call at today's matinee of Eclipsed to dedicate the performance to Amina Ali, the Nigerian schoolgirl who escaped and was rescued from the Boko Haram late yesterday after 764 days in captivity.

Well now she has earned a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for her portrayal of 'Wife #1' and she couldn't be more thrilled about it!

Yesterday, April 30th, 2016, Bono joined the cast of ECLIPSED onstage after the matinee performance to begin a new tradition at the show. Mayor Bill de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray visited the all-female, multi-ethnic, history-making cast of Eclipsed backstage after Friday's performance at the John Golden Theatre on Broadway. They asked the actors how they decompress after performing. Lupita Nyong 'o described how they take time to commune together before every performance and then again, after the show.
