Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber have announced the final extension of Porchlight's 22nd season opener, the multi-Tony Award-winning In The Heights, now playing through Saturday, Dec. 31, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, book by Quiara Alegria Hudes.

The first was the 1988 original film, the second was the 2002 Broadway musical, the third was its 2007 film adaptation, and then the 2016 live television production on NBC. As a Welcome to the 60's, let's go back to beginning to learn the history of the property itself.

Belmont Ave. The regular scheduled performance times are Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $55 - 75. Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of a new holiday musical, Silver Belles. Directed by Signature Theatre Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Follies, Million Dollar Quartet), this world premiere musical features a book by Allyson Currin (WSC Avant Bard's Caesar and Dada), music by Matt Conner (Signature's Nevermore) and lyrics by Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith (Creative Cauldron's The Turn of the Screw).

"When We Rise" was written and created by Academy Award winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.  This mini-series event chronicles the real-life personal and political struggles, set-backs and triumphs of a diverse family of LGBT men and women who helped pioneer one of the last legs of the U.S. Civil Rights movement, from its turbulent infancy in the 20th century to the once unfathomable successes of today.

Carnegie Hall today announced an exciting new guest artist line-up for its spring performances with The New York Pops and Music DirectorSteven Reineke. On Friday, March 10 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, the orchestra and Maestro Reineke continue their Carnegie Hall season with Life is a Cabaret: The Songs of Kander and Ebb, a celebration of composer John Kander's 90th birthday and five-decade partnership with lyricist Fred Ebb. Tony Award nominee Tony Yazbeck joins previously announced Caissie Levy performing songs from the duo's biggest Broadway sensations including Cabaret, Kiss of the Spiderwoman,The Scottsboro Boys, and Chicago. Previously announced guest artist Joshua Henry is unable to appear in this concert due to a scheduling conflict.

The Public Theater presents the New York Premiere of PARTY PEOPLE by UNIVERSES (Steven Sapp, Mildred Ruiz-Sapp, and William Ruiz a.k.a Ninja). Developed and directed by Liesl Tommy with choreography by Millicent Johnnie, PARTY PEOPLE began performances on November 1 and runs through Sunday, December 4, with an official press opening tonight, November 15.
