Academy Award winning composer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) has joined the cast of Broadway Bound: The Musicals That Never Came to Broadway on Wednesday, February 15th at 7:00pm at Feinstein's/54 Below.

Erin Davie (Diana: The Musical), AJ Holmes (The Book of Mormon) and Joe Iconis (Be More Chill) will be joining the third edition of Broadway Bound: The Musicals That Never Came To Broadway on Wednesday, February 15th at 7:00pm at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Black theater pioneer Shauneille Perry Ryder has died at age 92. Perry was an actress, playwright and educator who was one of the first Black women to direct plays Off Broadway, most notably for the New Federal Theater.

The 29TH Annual Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival (LAWTF) has a roster of distinguished artists who will co-host six evenings of programs virtually. This year's overall theme is Beyond Boundaries.

Martin Markinson, one of the leading Broadway producers and independent theatre owners of the past 50 years, died on Thursday, January 7th at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico surrounded by love. He was 89 years old.

To launch its 50th anniversary season, The Negro Ensemble Company (NEC) will revisit its very first production, 'Day of Absence' (1966) by Douglas Turner Ward, with an eight-performance run December 4-11 at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Mark's Place. The season will include three more productions at Theatre 80 St. Marks and one at La MaMa.

On May 24, The Lorraine Hansberry Awards, presented by Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith and Woodie King, Jr., New Federal Theatre Artistic Director, will honor five women: Micki Grant, Lynn Hamilton, Shauneille Perry, Dr. Glory Van Scott and Camille Yarbrough.

FREDA PAYNE is a Detroit native who never realized her talents until the early age of twelve. Her piano teacher discovered her singing ability and from that point on Freda was singing for local affairs around Detroit and even entered talent contest on local TV as well as the national TV show, Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour.

Was an early protege of Quincy Jones during his big band era, also performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2008 in honor of Quincy's seventy fifth birthday celebration.

Brown), now in its fifth year, announced today, that they will present the Los Angeles Premiere of FRATERNITY by internationally acclaimed, award-winning playwright/screenwriter Jeff Stetson (Keep the Faith and And the Men Should Also Gather).
