Bobby Vinton, the entertainer Billboard Magazine has called 'the most successful love singer of the 'Rock-Era', appears at The Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa for one very special performance on September 7 at 8:00 pm. From 1962 to 1972 Vinton had more #1 records than any other solo male artist in the country and established himself as one of America's top concert performers and most versatile entertainers. His impressive list of hits includes renowned love songs such as Roses Are Red, Blue Velvet and Mr. Lonely, among many others. His songs are recognized as standards throughout the world and his music has retained its vitality and relevance through our changing times. I had the opportunity to chat with Mr. Vinton about his career, his upcoming concert and "all things Bobby Vinton". Here are some of the highlights from that interview.

'I wish my Dad had lived to see this.' With these words Mark Trenowden's wife sowed a seed. Spurred on by his children's demands for a new story and using the setting of their holiday home in Nova Scotia he set about writing the Miracle of Bean's Bullion. The miracle would require several ingredients. A little time travel, nature's essence, a sprinkling of local folklore and the magic of a retro diner that all come together to right a wrong and fulfill a dream.

About halfway through Jim Brochu's Saturday, June 29 performance at the Metropolitan Room of his new show Character Man, I realized I was witnessing what was probably the best cabaret show I'd seen this year, and perhaps was one of the best in my almost three years of reviewing cabaret. By the time the show ended, I had changed my mind. Not because the show fell apart in the second half, but because what Jim Brochu had created (and is opening tonight at the Broward Stage Door Theatre in Coral Springs, Florida, where it will be performed until August 11) was more than a cabaret show. Character Man is a delightful, extremely well-crafted Off-Broadway theater piece that is destined for a run that might rival his critically-acclaimed one-man Zero Mostel tribute show, Zero Hour, which played throughout the country between 2006-2012 and earned Brochu 2010 Drama Desk and Helen Hayes Awards.

Multiple GRAMMY Award-winner Natalie Cole's first Spanish-language album, 'Natalie Cole en Espanol' will be released June 25 on Verve/Universal. The album finds Natalie personally inspired by both the bilingual recording legacy of her father Nat King Cole, and a growing passion for the timeless romanticism of the great Latin music composers. Produced by Rudy Perez ('Latin Music Producer Of The Decade' - Billboard), 'Natalie Cole en Espanol'will reintroduce a new generation of fans to many of Latin Music's most romantic standards - with both new interpretations of Spanish-language classics previously recorded by Nat King Cole, and Natalie's own personal selections of songs that have touched her heart and make this album truly her own. This wonderful balance of both old and new classics is perfectly illustrated by the special vocal collaborations that highlight the album, with Natalie joining Juan Luis Guerra on the Dominican Maestro's own 'Bachata Rosa,' while looking further back with Andrea Bocelli on the eternal 'Besame Mucho.' But without question, the most emotional pairing of the album finds Natalie joining her father in a heartfelt duet of 'Acercate Mas' (Come Closer to Me) - utilizing the same technique as their Grammy winning, globally multi-platinum recording of 'Unforgettable.'
