The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) SuperPops and baritone Daniel Narducci, star of stage and screen, will be ringing in the holiday season at the Music Center at Strathmore on Wednesday, December 12 at 8 p.m. and at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on Thursday, December 13 at 2 p.m., Friday December 14 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Saturday December 15 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday December 16 2102 at 2 p.m. Under the direction of conductor Robert Bernhardt, this Holiday Pops Celebration will feature the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and the Anacrusis Handbell Ensemble in a program of carols, classic holiday favorites, sing-alongs and even a special guest from the North Pole. The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 32nd Rolling World Premiere: Steve Yockey's Wolves will receive four productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2012/13 season, the Network's 15th. Wolves will begin its Rolling World Premiere at Actor's Express (Atlanta, GA, November 8 - December 2, 2012), followed by performances at Southern Rep (New Orleans, LA, November 14 - 25, 2012), Stray Cat Theatre (Tempe, AZ, November 30 - December 16, 2012), and Celebration Theatre (Los Angeles, CA, March 8 - May 1, 2013).

As rehearsals started today, final casting is confirmed for the major London production of the Broadway musical comedy, Victor/Victoria. Directed by Thom Southerland and produced by Danielle Tarento, it will run for an 8-week season in The Vault at Southwark Playhouse, from Thursday October 25 - Saturday December 15. Press night is Thursday 1 November at 7.30pm.

Today in 2000, Cats closed at the Wintergarden Theatre, where it ran for 7485 performances. Cats is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot. Cats first opened in the West End in 1981 and then on Broadway in 1982, each time directed by Trevor Nunn and choreographed by Gillian Lynne; it won numerous awards, including both the Laurence Olivier Award and the Tony Award for Best Musical.

According to the Daily Mail, Hannah John-Kamen has officially been cast as the title role of Viva in the upcoming Spice Girls-inspired musical Viva Forever! alongside Sally Ann Triplett as her mother. Both actors participated in developmental workshops prior to being cast.

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) presents Gilbert & Sullivan's comic operetta THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, directed by Broadway veteran Terrence Mann, starring Sean Martin Hingston as the Pirate King, Steven Hayes as the Major-General and Connecticut native Diane Phelan as Mabel.
