In September, 2010, Scot Copeland - who joined Nashville Children's Theatre as producing artistic director in 1985 - did an interview ahead of his induction among the very first Class of First Night Honorees and we are happy to share some 'Scot stories,' straight from the horse's mouth as it were, as part of our continued remembrance of the vital role he has filled in our theater community for more than 30 years and in honor of his abiding friendship and astounding imaginative leadership of our creative community.

From training to combat, experience the anguish, fears and triumphs of a brotherhood who fought for freedom abroad -- and at home. FLY, directed by Ricardo Khan, co-founder and former artistic director of Crossroads Theatre Company, and choreographed by Hope Clarke (A Free Man of Color; Jelly's Last Jam; Caroline, or Change) and Omar Edwards (Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk), tells the heroic tale of the Tuskegee Airmen through the eyes of four courageous young men.

Broadway Entertainment Group FZ LLC and NETworks Presentations LLC are pleased to announce their first ever, global tour of the English language production of SHREK THE MUSICAL with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori.  The production begins its journey in Istanbul, Turkey on the 22nd January, 2016 and will tour to diverse markets including Europe, the Middle East and Asia to cities including; Abu Dhabi, Jakarta and Singapore to name a few. 

Sacha Wares will be returning to Almeida Theatre to direct the world premiere of Leo Butler's new play Boy, after her directorial success with the critically acclaimed production, Game, by Mike Bartlett, in 2015.  Boy will run at the Almeida Theatre from 5 April until 28 May 2016, with press night on 12 April 2016. Director Sacha Wares is joined by a formidable creative team, including two powerhouse contemporary designers, Miriam Buether for set design (Wild Swans, Sucker Punch, My Child, Generations), who worked with Sacha on Game at the Almeida in 2015, and Ultz for costume (Jerusalem, Hobson's Choice, Fallout, Pied Pier), who will be collaborating with Miriam, on design, for the very first time. Further creative credits include movement by Leon Baugh, lighting by Jack Knowles and sound by Gareth Fry.

Catherine E. Coulson, a stage and screen actor best known for her role as The Log Lady in David Lynch's legendary TWIN PEAKS, and who made her artistic home with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 22 seasons, passed away early this morning in her home after a battle with cancer. She was 71.

Broadway and television veterans Mark Jacoby, Martin L'Herault, Steve Sheridan, Jeff Steitzer, and Brit Whittle, along with Rep Associate Artist Reese Madigan, make up the cast of Five Presidents from Emmy Award-winning writer Rick Cleveland (The West Wing, House of Cards, Mad Men, and Six Feet Under). Directed by Milwaukee Rep Artistic Director Mark Clements, the production opens tonight, March 13, 2015 and runs through April 5, 2015.

Actor James Denton ('DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES') is in town to promote his new show 'GOOD WITCH' on the Hallmark Channel. Last night, he attended TACT's 'ABUNDANCE' to see his friend Todd Lawson, who plays Jack in the show. He congratulated Todd and the rest of the cast after the show. Scroll down for a photo!

ABUNDANCE, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart), is an epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West. Abundance is directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances began at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on February 17, and the production opened last weekend on March 1. Co-produced with Geva Theatre Center, this incredibly thought-provoking production is inspired by the real life court case between the Havasupai Indian tribe and Arizona State University, and sparks an intriguing debate on both ethicality and morality. Directed by Sean Daniels and Sponsored by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth, Informed Consent will serve as the centerpiece to CPH's 2014 New Ground Theatre Festival and will run from today, April 23 - May 18 in the Second Stage.
