In his seventh concert at Pace, Fred Barton now brings the power of Mercer's music and lyrics front and center, with a 14-piece orchestra and a cast of 16 Broadway singers and dancers, with direction and choreography by Scott Thompson. The cast is headlined by Damon Kirsch, Tony nominee Lee Roy Reams, two time Tony nominee Vivian Reed, Nick Spangler, Tony Nominee Lauren Worsham, and Tony Award winner Karen Ziemba. The cast also features Jesse Luttrell, Sean McGibbon and Molly Pope.

WaterTower Theatre presents the world premiere of Donald Fowler's musical CREEP. The musical will open WaterTower Theatre's 2015-2016 Season on Monday, October 5, 2015 (with previews tonight, October 2, Saturday, October 3, and a Gala Preview performance on Sunday, October 4). Kate Galvin, Associate Producer at the 11th Hour Theatre Company in Philadelphia, will direct. CREEP is produced by Terry Martin.

Es beruht auf der mittlerweile klassischen Filmkomodie Monty Python and the Holy Grail (deutscher Titel: Die Ritter der Kokosnuss), handelt von Rittern und ihren verqueren Heldentaten und „bietet eine Menge schoner Girls, Kuhe, Killerkaninchen und Franzosen", so Eric Idle. Das Grundungsmitglied des unvergleichlichen Monty Python-Teams hat die Filmhandlung fur das Musical verandert, bleibt aber dem schragen Monty-Python-Humor treu. Auch die Filmmusik wurde von ihm und John Du Prez fur das Musical umgearbeitet: teils neu komponiert, teils musikalisch aufgefrischt. Und das Wagnis, den eigenwilligen englischen Humor in die amerikanischste aller Kunstgattungen zu uberfuhren, wurde belohnt. WASHINGTON)—Washington National Opera (WNO) today announced details for the fourth season of the American Opera Initiative, its comprehensive commissioning program that brings contemporary American stories to the stage while fostering the talents of rising American composers and librettists. Three pairings of new opera composers and librettists—Christopher Weiss and John de los Santos, David Clay Mettens and Joshua McGuire, and Sarah Hutchings and Mark Sonnenblick—will premiere new one-act operas, each based on a contemporary American story, in a semi-staged concert performance on December 2, 2015 in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. Composer Luna Pearl Woolf and librettist Caitlin Vincent, an alumnus of the program's second season, will present their new hour-long work Better Gods—based on the life of Queen Lili'uokalani, the last monarch of Hawaii—on January 8 and 9, 2016 in the Terrace Theater.
