The Encore Musical Theatre Company continues its ninth season with the Lerner and Loewe classic on June 8, 2017.

The Tony Award-nominated comedy, "Lettice and Lovage," will open Westport Country Playhouse's 87th Season, written by Peter Shaffer, author of "Amadeus," and directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.  The play runs from May 30 through June 17. 

SandRico Productions will present a musical theatre work-in-development with a public reading of 'From the Bodoni County Songbook Anthology:  A Musical Revue (of sorts)' with original text and lyrics by Frank Gagliano and music by the late Claibe Richardson. 

Remember when that tall handsome imposing clothing executive J. Peterman would reprimand Elaine Benes his trusted employee (and Jerry's soulmate)?  He had a somber pompous demeanor, but then his conversation made a U-turn into something absurdly funny.  That's the way John O'Hurley, the brilliant actor, author and Broadway performer ( Billy Flynn,Chicago) starts his Cafe Carlyle cabaret act, with a reprimand to Darwin Best who makes the off stage announcement at The Carlyle….'You call that an introduction'? Then John O'Hurley proceeds to introduce himself with an authoritative voice that's a mix of Richard Burton, Edward R. Murray and Charles Kuralt. 

Under James Rio's inspired direction, this version of CAMELOT, now on stage at Arizona Broadway Theatre, is an absorbing experience and an irresistible invitation to a momentary retreat to a world of romance and possibility. Matthew C. Thompson stands at the epicenter of the musical, drawing from his wide cup of talent and delivering a stirring and highly relatable performance as King Arthur.

The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart and orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, ran on Broadway for 873 performances, winning four Tony Awards and spawning several revivals, foreign productions and a 1967 film version. The 1980 cast starred Richard Burton, Christine Ebersole, and Richard Muenz.
