Years before Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance turned ballroom dancing into must-see TV, one sizzling show was setting stages ablaze around the globe.

Nationally recognized comedy stars, A-list music legends, incredible tribute bands, and spectacular family entertainment will join four amazing Broadway musicals next season at Aurora's historic Paramount Theatre, which announced today its full 2011-12, 80th anniversary line-up.

The Pasadena Playhouse has announced that full casting is complete for the west coast premiere of the new musical TWIST - An American Musical by William F. Brown and Tina Tippit (book), Tena Clark (lyrics and music) and Gary Prim (music). Golden Globe and multi-Emmy Award-winner Debbie Allen directs a cast of 31 performers led by Tamyra Gray ('American Idol,' Rent and Bombay Dreams) and Cleavant Derricks (Tony Award-winner, Dreamgirls). The five-week limited engagement performs June 14 - July 17, 2011 with the official press opening on June 26, 2011 at The Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

The League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a non-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, is pleased to recognize the talents of two outstanding women: the LPTW Lucille Lortel Award and accompanying grant will be presented to Jessica Burr, Artistic Director of Blessed Unrest; and the Ruth Morley Design Award will be given to Tony Award-winning scenic designer Christine Jones. These awards will be presented at the League's 2011 Awards Luncheon, to be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9 at Sardi's Restaurant.

THE ACTIVE THEATER in association with BUD MARTIN will present Any Given Monday by Bruce Graham on Monday, April 4, 2011 at New World Stages, 2:00pm, in Stage 5. Earl D. Weiner, Chairman of the Board, and Victoria Bailey, Executive Director of Theatre Development Fund [TDF], the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, announced today that Michael Naumann would be joining TDF as Managing Director. Mr. Naumann, a significant player in New York's theatrical community, leaves his position of Director of Finance at Frankel Green Theatrical Management (FGTM) to join TDF. Prior to his current post, Mr. Naumann served for 20 years as Director of Finance and Administration at Manhattan Theatre Club. He will assume his duties at TDF on May 9.
