Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for the musical BUDDY - THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY go on-sale to the public Friday, April 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. Based on the life of rock legend Buddy Holly, BUDDY will play Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph) for a limited engagement June 18 - 30, 2013.

Theseus Productions, LLC and Theater of the Stars has announced that the musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story will hold an open casting call in select cities for the role of 'Buddy Holly' in the upcoming North American Tour. Auditions will be held in Nashville, Austin, Toronto and Atlanta between March 16 and March 23, 2013. Finalists will be invited to audition in New York later that month.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Patrick Cassidy is at work on a new piece about his father, the late musical actor Jack Cassidy, who died in an accidental fire at the age of 49. The younger Cassidy is developing a one-man show about Jack, with the help of some of Jack's old friends, including Hal Prince and John McMartin.

With the announcement of the Denver Center Theatre Company's 2009/10 Season, Artistic Director Kent Thompson continues his company's mission of new play development by selecting three world premieres - including two Denver Center commissions - while sending a resounding message to Colorado and the nation that uncertain economic times call for new and classic plays that hold a special relevance for us. 'The best way to overcome fear and uncertainty is to stir people's thoughts and hearts with stimulating ideas, different cultures, and imaginative stories,' said Thompson.
