Haddonfield Plays and Players continue their successful 84th season with the Rock hit musical, ROCK OF AGES!

For over two decades, the Balcones Heights Jazz Festival has been a summer highlight captivating jazz aficionados from across Texas with a free stellar line-up of renowned jazz stars from across the country. This year's performance features a diverse line-up of headlining and special opening acts, new to the Jazz Festival.

One of the latest in this series of revues is SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, a brainchild of frequent Sondheim collaborator James Lapine, which premiered on Broadway in 2010. Reorchestrated to fit the Boston Pops, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM played a two-night engagement at Symphony Hall on June 15 and June 16 under the direction of Sarna Lapine and conducted by Keith Lockhart.

THREE WISE GUYS by Scott Alan Evans & Jeffrey Couchman, directed by Scott Alan Evans+, is up next as part of TACT's newTACTics Festival.

Author Patricia McKissack, who produced children's books about black history with her husband, passed away on April 7th at the age of 72.  According to her son, Fredrick L. McKissack Jr., the cause was cardiorespiratory arrest.

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we have to announce that the great Nigerian business leader and mythic music pioneer William Onyeabor has passed away at the age of 70. He died peacefully in his sleep following a brief illness, at his home in Enugu, Nigeria. An extraordinary artist, businessman and visionary, Mr. Onyeabor composed and self-released 9 brilliant albums of groundbreaking electronic-funk from 1977-1985, which he recorded, pressed and printed at Wilfilms Limited—his personal pressing plant in southeast Nigeria.

Case closed! According to Forbes, the jury has reached a verdict in a JERSEY BOYS copyright infringement case. The Nevada federal court ruled that because 'substantial portions' of the unpublished 'Tommy DeVito: Then and Now' were used in the musical's book, 10% is owed to Donna Corbello- the widow of the biography's author.
