San Francisco Ballet Announces 2017-18 Season

San Francisco Ballet, long recognized for pushing boundaries in dance, has announced its 2017-18 Season program and schedule. This summer, SF Ballet will return to Festival Napa Valley for one performance only on Friday, July 21, 2017, accompanied by members of the SF Ballet Orchestra. In addition, this October, the Company will once again participate in World Ballet Day LIVE, a day-long streaming event (details to be announced).

The work is set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and will provide a grand conclusion to a festive evening of performance and video excerpts that celebrate the 40 year history of The Washington Ballet dance company. The special one-night only production features works by Choo San Goh, Septime Webre as well as other favorites from TWB repertoire on September 30, 2016, 8PM at the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Narrated by Julie Kent, the production includes an emotional and inspirational look back at the people and creative works that have come to define TWB throughout its 40 year history.

Artistic Director Julie Kent is pleased to announce that Monica Stephenson joined the faculty at The Washington Ballet's southeast campus TWB@THEARC effective September 1. The move reaffirms TWB's commitment to continuing the growth and excellence of education and community engagement programs in the greater Washington community. Stephenson previously coordinated American Ballet Theatre's Project Plie, an initiative to increase diversity in classical ballet and was a member of ABT's education staff.
