The Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh & Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey - have added five more “An Evening with the Eagles” concerts to the 2018 tour. New shows have been set for Tuesday, October 9, at Madison Square Garden in New York City and Friday, October 12, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.  Due to the success of the October 2017 concert in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena, the March 14, concert at the United Center in Chicago, and the two Forum concerts in Inglewood, California, a third show at the “Fabulous” Forum has been set for Saturday, September 15, and second (and final) shows have been set for Sunday, October 14, at Little Caesars Arena and Monday, October 15, at the United Center.

The Ovation Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ovation TV, has recognized the work of five non-profit arts organizations with $125,000 in awards as part of its 2017 Creative Economy innOVATION Grant Awards Program. In its fourth grant cycle, the program focused on identifying model nonprofit arts organizations that cultivate and support artists and enterprises in the creative industries through capacity-building, accelerating partnerships, and/or fiscal support. Five grants of $25,000 each were awarded to the following nonprofit organizations:

Seven theatre artists have gathered for the nineteenth annual Sundance Institute Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, currently underway from February 5 to February 23, 2018. Well-known gospel recording artist Kenton Rogers has joined the cast of Avant Bard's revival of The Gospel at Colonus, a critical and audience hit last season. Rogers-an actor, singer, and ordained preacher-will headline The Gospel at Colonus in the role of Singer Oedipus along with local civic legend William T. Newman Jr., who returns as Preacher Oedipus.

Everybody say yeah! Staring last night, February 2, Grammy Award-winner Kirstin Maldonado, of the hit acapella group Pentatonix, made her Broadway debut as 'Lauren' in Kinky Boots on Broadway. Frostburg State University will host its third annual Summer Music Academy from Sunday, July 22, through Sunday, July 29, featuring guest instructors and artists from top musical ensembles. The academy promotes classical music education, and the goal is to develop individual musicianship for string, woodwind, brass, piano and voice in a supportive environment.

St. Ann's Warehouse presents the American Premiere of Schaub hne Berlin's Returning to Reims, an adaptation of French author Didier Eribon's memoir of the same name, directed by Berlin auteur Thomas Ostermeier, February 4-25. This production marks the first collaboration between St. Ann's and the Schaub hne, whose production of Richard III recently garnered acclaim in BAM's Next Wave Festival.

Avant Bard's acclaimed production of The Gospel at Colonus, a critical and audience favorite a year ago, returns in all its glory to Gunston Arts Center February 22 to March 25, 2018. The exhilarating African American musical will again star renowned Arlington actor and judge William T. Newman (pictured above) in the role of Oedipus.

Sam Rockwell to Receive American Riviera Award at Santa Barbara International Film Festival

After a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of Northern Stage's programme at Summerhall in 2016 and a UK tour in Autumn 2017 visiting venues including Battersea Arts Centre London, Old Fire Station Oxford and Attenborough Arts Centre Leicester, The DH (Deaf & Hearing) Ensemble are taking People of the Eye to further venues in Spring 2018.

MGC has announced the full casting for Michael Grandage's production of Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore which opens at the No l Coward Theatre on 4 July, with previews from 23 June and runs until 8 September. Joining Aidan Turner (Padraic) completing the all Irish cast are Denis Conway (Donny), Will Irvine (Christy), Brian Martin (James), Daryl McCormack (Brendan) Julian Moore-Cook (Joey), Charlie Murphy (Mairead), and Chris Walley (Davey).

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back the singular vision of Irish playwright/director Enda Walsh in the American Premiere of his gut-wrenchingly funny and achingly poignant Ballyturk, co-produced by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival, producers of Walsh's Misterman and last season's Arlington.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presented the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) with $127,008.53 following the run of DTC's production of A Christmas Carol. For the tenth consecutive year, DTC collected donations and non-perishable goods during performances of A Christmas Carol from Nov. 22 to Dec. 28, 2017 to benefit NTFB.

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of guest conductor Carolyn Kuan, will perform John Corigliano's Academy Award-winning score for The Red Violin, accompanied by Fran ois Girard's engrossing film in its entirety, at the Granada Theatre on Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21. Featuring Canadian violinist Lara St. John as soloist, the concerts will take place at 8 pm on January 20 and at 3 pm on January 21. Coming off the huge success of his Netflix special Live From Seattle, Comedian Jo Koy will be launching a new tour starting 2018, which will include brand new material.

This January Signature Theatre will acquire the website EverythingSondheim.org and begin publishing new articles and content this winter. Everything Sondheim is a print publication and website created by Rick Pender featuring extensive international coverage of the most influential composer and lyricist of contemporary musical theater, Stephen Sondheim.

Animaniacs in Concert! starring Rob Paulsen and Randy Rogel will be performed at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Saturday, January 20th. The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center is located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91355. Ticket prices range from $34-$51. Show begins at 2 pm.

The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President and CEO) announced today the recipients of the 2017 Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Classroom Resource Grants. Grant requests of up to $100,000 were considered for K-12 public schools, with nearly 200 applications received from across 40 states. Requests totaled nearly $4.2 million.
