THE EAGLES Add Five More Concerts to 2018 AN EVENING WITH THE EAGLES Tour

The Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh & Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey - have added five more “An Evening with the Eagles” concerts to the 2018 tour. New shows have been set for Tuesday, October 9, at Madison Square Garden in New York City and Friday, October 12, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.  Due to the success of the October 2017 concert in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena, the March 14, concert at the United Center in Chicago, and the two Forum concerts in Inglewood, California, a third show at the “Fabulous” Forum has been set for Saturday, September 15, and second (and final) shows have been set for Sunday, October 14, at Little Caesars Arena and Monday, October 15, at the United Center.

The Ovation Foundation Announces Recipients Of Its 2017 Creative Economy innOVATION Grant Awards Program

The Ovation Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Ovation TV, has recognized the work of five non-profit arts organizations with $125,000 in awards as part of its 2017 Creative Economy innOVATION Grant Awards Program. In its fourth grant cycle, the program focused on identifying model nonprofit arts organizations that cultivate and support artists and enterprises in the creative industries through capacity-building, accelerating partnerships, and/or fiscal support. Five grants of $25,000 each were awarded to the following nonprofit organizations:

Well-known gospel recording artist Kenton Rogers has joined the cast of Avant Bard's revival of The Gospel at Colonus, a critical and audience hit last season. Rogers-an actor, singer, and ordained preacher-will headline The Gospel at Colonus in the role of Singer Oedipus along with local civic legend William T. Newman Jr., who returns as Preacher Oedipus.

Everybody say yeah! Staring last night, February 2, Grammy Award-winner Kirstin Maldonado, of the hit acapella group Pentatonix, made her Broadway debut as 'Lauren' in Kinky Boots on Broadway. St. Ann's Warehouse presents the American Premiere of Schaub hne Berlin's Returning to Reims, an adaptation of French author Didier Eribon's memoir of the same name, directed by Berlin auteur Thomas Ostermeier, February 4-25. This production marks the first collaboration between St. Ann's and the Schaub hne, whose production of Richard III recently garnered acclaim in BAM's Next Wave Festival.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award Recipient Dallas Theater Center (DTC) presented the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) with $127,008.53 following the run of DTC's production of A Christmas Carol. For the tenth consecutive year, DTC collected donations and non-perishable goods during performances of A Christmas Carol from Nov. 22 to Dec. 28, 2017 to benefit NTFB.

Santa Barbara Symphony To Perform Alongside Film Screenings

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of guest conductor Carolyn Kuan, will perform John Corigliano's Academy Award-winning score for The Red Violin, accompanied by Fran ois Girard's engrossing film in its entirety, at the Granada Theatre on Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21. Featuring Canadian violinist Lara St. John as soloist, the concerts will take place at 8 pm on January 20 and at 3 pm on January 21. American Theatre Wing Announces Recipients of 2017 Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Classroom Resource Grants

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President and CEO) announced today the recipients of the 2017 Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative Classroom Resource Grants. Grant requests of up to $100,000 were considered for K-12 public schools, with nearly 200 applications received from across 40 states. Requests totaled nearly $4.2 million.
