The divisive world of Washington D.C. politics moves to center stage of the Bram Goldsmith Theater at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts when Anthony Giardina's searing political comic drama THE CITY OF CONVERSATION opens for a limited run this month.

In Tom Stoppard's Arcadia, characters stand and challenge each other, far more diplomatically than our friends running for higher office, on a long list of mathematical, scientific, and philosophical theories. Characters with strong conviction passionately defending those convictions can make for the type of thought-provoking theatre that stays with you long after curtain call.

The Lakewood Playhouse presents the third show of its 77th season: ARCADIA by Tom Stoppard (From the Author of ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD and SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE)! This production will also mark the continuation of Lakewood's year-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Lakewood Playhouse Theatre. From TAMING OF THE SHREW in its first year to AVENUE Q at the end of this season, Lakewood will have presented over 300 productions at this venue, which was first built in 1965 by the Lakewood Arts Foundation. Full casting has been announced for the world premiere of Any Means Necessary by Kefi Chadwick, Nottingham Playhouse's first major production of 2016. In 2011 a major legal scandal broke as it was revealed that that an undercover police officer had for years been living amongst political activists in Nottingham. Not only had he been spying on legitimate protest groups but, in his undercover persona, he had been engaging in long term intimate relationships with individuals within. Dismissed by police as a 'rogue officer', it soon became clear that he was not alone and many undercover police had been spying on activists for decades, forming supposedly loving relationships and even fathering children with the female members of these groups. All this was fully sanctioned and funded by Special Branch. With the subsequent collapse of high profile legal cases following these revelations, in July 2015, Lord Justice Pitchford opened a public inquiry into undercover policing.

Tom Stoppard's ARCADIA, widely regarded as one of the 20th century's greatest plays, is a ravishing comedy, a literary sleuth story, a touching period romance and a scientific exposition all rolled into one. For Sydney Theatre Company's new production, director Richard Cottrell collaborates again with ARMS AND THE MAN set designer Michael Scott-Mitchell, costume designer Julie Lynch, and lighting designer Damien Cooper. Performances are at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House, from 8 February to 2 April 2016.

Executive Producer Jerry Gunn today announces full casting for the company's production of Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet. Sally Cookson returns to theatre to direct Sharon D Clarke (Nurse), Matt Costain (Paris/Prince), Chris Bianchi (Friar Lawrence/ Montague), Audrey Brisson (Juliet), Joseph Drake (Romeo), Laura Elphinstone (Mercutio), Felix Hayes (Tybalt) and Javier Marzan (Peter). The production opens on 4 March, with previews from 28 February, and runs until 14 March.

English Touring Theatre and Theatre Royal Brighton Productions today announced casting for a new touring production of Tom Stoppard's comedy masterpiece, Arcadia, which will be the first major national tour since 1993, and over 20 years since the play has been seen by audiences around the UK.

This four concert season, and the additional attraction The Muppet Movie Sing-A-Long, is presented by the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation and is a means of raising funds to support arts in the schools and maintain this new, state-of-the-art facility.

Pat Barker's Booker-nominated novel, REGENERATION, has been adapted for the stage by Olivier Award-winning playwright Nicholas Wright (His Dark Materials, Vincent in Brixton), it opened at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 29 August 2014 prior to a national tour. The production plays Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from 4 - 8 November 2014.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents Tony Award-winner Rosemary Harris in the New York premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff. Indian Ink officially opens tonight, September 30, at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 46th Street). Let's see what the critics had to say...
