New York City's famed MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale) - founded in 1941 by legendary conductor Robert Shaw - will celebrate its 75th anniversary during the 2016-2017 season.

Virginia's Tony-Award winning Signature Theatre presents the world premiere of The Gulf by DC playwright Audrey Cefaly. Directed by Signature's Director of New Works Joe Calarco (Signature Theatre's The Flick, Gypsy), The Gulfcontinues Signature Theatre's commitment to producing regional and local premieres of important new plays. The production stars Maria Rizzo (Signature's Gypsy, West Side Story) and Rachel Zampelli (Signature's The Fix, Dying City), and runs September 13 - November 6 in Signature Theatre's intimate ARK Theatre.

?The recipient of the 2016 Silver Ticket Award is Andy McKim, the Artistic Director of Toronto's Theatre Passe Muraille. The Silver Ticket was presented to Mr. McKim at the 37th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, held Monday evening, June 27, at Harbourfront Centre's Concert Stage in Toronto.

After selling out its initial run, I'LL SAY SHE IS, the legendary musical comedy that was the Broadway debut of the Marx Brothers, will extend its historic revival at The Connelly Theater through July 3.

?The League of Chicago Theatres will host a speaking engagement and book signing event with John Breglio for his new book I WANNA BE A PRODUCER: How to Make a Killing on Broadway…or Get Killed on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Goodman in the Owen Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn St.  The event will include a speaking engagement at 7:00pm, followed by a reception and book signing. 

The 70th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 12th at 8/9c hosted by James Corden. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. It played for 313 performances before being lost to history. Thanks to Grouch Marx enthusiast Noah Diamond, I'LL SAY SHE IS will return to the stage in a historic new production at The Connelly Theater beginning previews May 28.
