Just announced, Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre will honor Broadway librettist John Weidman (ASSASSINS, PACIFIC OVERTURES, ROAD SHOW) with the company's seventh Stephen Sondheim Award on April 4, 2016.

Two years ago, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, Frederick's only year-round producing regional theatre, celebrated its 20th anniversary season and opened with a beloved classic, The Sound of Music. To launch Way Off Broadway's new expanded six-show 2016 Season, the theatre will open with another classic, Anything Goes. The Cole Porter musical will kick off the season on Friday evening, January 15th.

CHICAGO will play for 11 performances, tonight, September 11, through September 27, 2015 at the Lucie Stern Theater located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre just announced the preliminary directors and casting for its 27th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS. The Festival will take place on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

VWA Theatricals has found its Cathy and Jamie for the upcoming production of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years: Delaney Amatrudo and Luke Denison. Amatrudo and Denison will lead the cast for the musical, which opens tonight and runs through August 22 at Nashville's iconic Darkhorse Theater. Amatrudo currently studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and Denison is a recent graduate of Indiana University.
