He made a pact with God that he would be the vessel through which God's music would spring. All was good until Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives in Vienna. In horror Salieri determines that it is Mozart instead who is his God's chosen voice. Mozart's music proves it; God had broken their pact. Salieri now makes a terrible new vow: to block God on earth and teach Him a lesson, using Mozart as the means to that end.

Tywla Tharp is this year's recipient of the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Best Choreography.

Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). Tony Award and Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Jane Alexander, Robert Cuccioli (GSP's The Seafarer) and Gareth Saxe (Broadway's The Homecoming), will reunite in their roles of Thom Thomas' A Moon to Dance By at the George Street Playhouse from November 17 - December 13. The three previously collaborated on the production at the REP in Pittsburgh.
