The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, beginning tonight, December 17, in the West End, stars Tamsin Greig, Haydn Gwynne, Jerome Pradon, Anna Skellern, Ricardo Afonso, Haydn Oakley, Willemijn Verkaik and Seline Hizli.

Maestro Nicholas McGegan and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will ring in the New Year with a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 on Friday, January 2 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 4 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall and Saturday, January 3 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. Paper Mill Playhouse will offer this special autism-friendly performance of Elf on Tuesday, December 23, at 1:30pm. La Traviata will return to the Met stage December 11 with two rotating casts of stars, all of whom are singing their first company performances of the principal roles. Latvian soprano Marina Rebeka, who made a notable debut as Donna Anna in the 2011 new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni, brings her acclaimed Violetta to the Met for the first time in the opening performances, with American tenor Stephen Costello as her impetuous lover Alfredo. Later performances will feature Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva—currently starring in her first-ever staged performances of Mimì in Puccini's La Bohème—as Violetta, opposite Italian tenor Francesco Demuro as Alfredo. The role of Giorgio Germont, Alfredo's father, will be shared by American baritone Quinn Kelsey and French baritone Ludovic Tézier. Marco Armiliato will lead all performances of Verdi's romantic tragedy this season. Willy Decker's acclaimed production had its Met premiere in 2010.

The new Broadway musical DOCTOR ZHIVAGO, based on Boris Pasternak's Nobel Prize-winning 20th-century epic Russian masterpiece, will star Tam Mutu making his Broadway debut as the passionate Doctor and poet Yurii Zhivago, Kelli Barrett (Wicked) as the alluring Lara Guishar, Tony Award nominee Tom Hewitt (Rocky Horror Show) as the cynical bourgeois magistrate Viktor Komarovsky, and Paul Nolan (Jesus Chris Superstar) as political radical Pasha Antipov. A revival of Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia will open at the Met November 18, withLawrence Brownlee as the lovestruck Count Almaviva; Isabel Leonard as Rosina, the feisty ward who captures his heart; andChristopher Maltman in his first Met performances of Figaro, the title barber whose skills extend far beyond hair-cutting.Michele Mariotti conducts the performance, which also stars Maurizio Muraro as Dr. Bartolo and Paata Burchuladze as Don Basilio. San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley announced today the appointment of Daniel Knapp as director of production, effective February 11, 2015. Knapp currently serves as artistic production director and head of company management of the world-acclaimed Bregenz Festival in Austria. He succeeds Greg Weber, who has joined the staff of Tulsa Opera as managing director.

On Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall presents Teatro Regio Torino in a concert performance of Rossini's opera Guglielmo Tell (William Tell) conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and sung in Italian by an outstanding cast that includes baritone Dalibor Jenis in the title role, tenor John Osborn as Arnoldo, and soprano Angela Meade as Matilde. The concert is part of the opera company's first-ever North American tour, with stops in Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Toronto.
