In an unprecedented collaboration, the Louis Armstrong House Museum in New York City and the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans have partnered on the exhibit: Satchmo: His Life in New Orleans to tell the story of Louis Armstrong's complex relationship with his hometown. The exhibit will coincide with the 100th anniversary of his first professional gig at Henry Ponce's in New Orleans in 1915.

Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation announced that Brian Hyland will be joining Dick Fox's DOO WOP EXTRAVAGANZA tonight, June 6 at 7pm. Brian Hyland is known for a slew of iconic hit songs including 'Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' and 'Sealed With a Kiss.'. Dick Fox's DOO WOP EXTRAVAGANZA is a celebration of Doo-wop, the iconic sound that caused a sensation in the 1950's and early 1960's.

PITTSBURGH - Revel in two of Beethoven's most notable and majestic works during the Pittsburgh Symphony's BNY Mellon Grand Classics: BeethovenFest: The Immortal June 5-7. It features the composer's violin concerto and Symphony No. 9, with its famous "Ode to Joy." 

Legendary trumpet-and-voice duo Herb Alpert and Lani Hall bring their unique mix of jazz, world and American pop music to Pacific Symphony for the final concert of the 2014-15 Pops Series. Joining musical forces in 2006, each half of this musical power couple brings an impressive résumé to the table. As a solo artist and leader of the Tijuana Brass, Alpert has sold more than 72 million records and placed 28 albums on the Billboard charts, including five at No. 1. His 2014 album, “Steppin' Out,” earned him his ninth Grammy Award, and in 2013, he was honored with the National Medal of Arts. His wife and music partner, Hall, rose to fame in 1966 as the lead singer of Sergio Mendes' group, Brasil '66. The two met and became friends when Brasil '66 was signed to A&M records by its co-founder, Alpert. Hall has the distinction of recording more than 22 albums in three different languages, four alongside her husband, and she earned a Grammy for her album, “Es Facil Amar.”

Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields iconic 1960's musical SWEET CHARITY is playing on the stage of the Festival Theatre as this year's musical offering at the Shaw Festival in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. Visually stunning and often energetically infectious, this musical, with book by Neil Simon, comes at a time when everything mod is new again. The 'MAD MEN' era has made a resurgence in clothing and home furnishings, so this nod to the past seems perfectly placed. Coleman's score includes such standards as 'Big Spender' and 'If My Friends Could See Me Now.'

Cadogan Hall presents the concert version of Sweet Charity with musical theatre stars Denise Van Outen, Michael Xavier, Kimberley Walsh and Kerry Ellis. MAME, the 1966 multiple Tony Award winning musical, based on the biographical novel Auntie Mame: An Irreverent Escapade by Patrick Dennis and subsequent play and film Auntie Mame by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, is a wonderful, warm, and witty narrative enhanced with Jerry Herman's evocative, lively, and sentimental music and lyrics. Bohemian Mame Dennis is a larger-than-life personality living in New York City during the Great Depression. Mame has a collection of eccentric, wealthy society friends and her life is one endless party; that is until her young nephew Patrick "walks into her life."

Beginning February 17, Sienna Miller ('American Sniper,' After Miss Julie) will take over the role of 'Sally Bowles' opposite Alan Cumming in Broadway's Cabaret at Studio 54. In a recent interview with Vulture, Miller commented on her own vocal chops: "Recreationally, yeah. I sing all the time in the car, in the house, and I was in the choir at school. And a lot of karaoke. They would say I was prolific in the karaoke department. But that's a whole different thing."

Travel back in time when the musical Buddy -- The Buddy Holly Story comes to the Jones Hall stage for three performances, presented by Society for the Performing Arts. Performances will be at 8 p.m., tonight, Feb. 6; and 2 and 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7.
