Bingo! - 1985 - Off-Off-Broadway History , Info & More

Bombastic Vern, superstitious Patsy, and ditsy, man-crazy Honey are addicted to Bingo! And no little hurricane is going to keep these die-hard players from their weekly game. Tonight is also the yearly celebration of the birth of Bingo and a tribute to its founder, Edwin S. Lowe. When the storm knocks out power at the Bingo Hall, Patsy and Honey remind each other of an ominous night fifteen years ago that began in the same way. In flashback, Honey tells us about the night Vern and her best friend, Bernice, had their falling out. Predictably, Bernice's sweet, yet headstrong daughter, Alison, enters the Bingo hall in disguise - Bernice's health is failing, and Alison is determined, with the help of Bingo, to reunite her mother with her long-lost best friend, Vern. With a smart, funny script and a bouncy, hummable score Bingo turns Grandma's favorite form of gambling into fun-loving musical theater. Audience members will also compete in three games for spectacular prizes! Did I hear someone yell "Bingo?" We have a winner!

TREEFALL Opens At Rogue Machine 7/30
by BWW News Desk - Jul 30, 2009

Set in a future drastically altered by global climate change, TREEFALL is the story of three teenagers who have been surviving in the Pacific Northwest, trying to keep their make-shift family unit together. The arrival of a stranger with a secret unhinges the life they knew, and the vestiges of civil behavior crumble. The play re-examines how our culture sees and instills gender, identity, and family...even in a future world where these strictures have eroded.

BINGO WITH THE INDIANS Gets Extended Through 6/13 At Rogue Machine
by BWW News Desk - Jun 13, 2009

In a shabby New England motel, 3 members of a NY theatre group have arrived with a scheme. As the evening darkens and unravels...so do their ambitions and secrets. This dark comedy--from Pulitzer-nominee Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter, Nocturne) is a visceral, provocative, oddball piece about a group of artists desperately trying to force a place for themselves, and how far they will go to get what they want. This West-Coast premiere marks the debut of Rogue Machine's ?Off the Clock,' a late-night series of bold, taut, intoxicating theatrical concoctions for the artistically daring crowd.

Photo Flash: 'BY JEEVES' at Meadow Brook Theatre
by Eddie Varley - Apr 27, 2009

Meadow Brook Theatre welcomes director David Edwards, who was part of the 'By Jeeves' Broadway cast. 'I was offered the job of standby for four of the leading roles,' explained Edwards. 'I had a great time with the show and I'm excited to bring that experience here to Meadow Brook Theatre's stage. 'By Jeeves', I thought, deserved another look, beyond Broadway, in a more intimate setting. A series of happy coincidences brought me to this marvelous group of collaborators at this wonderfully enterprising theatre.'
