Starz brought Miami Beach to Tar Beach with a day-long consumer event featuring 'summer fun' vintage beach wear fashion shows (50s & 60s period designs, bikinis and one pieces), styled by Emmy Award winning costume designer, Carol Ramsey showcasing and inspired by the period series that premieres Friday, June 14th. Fans had a chance to view a classic 1959 convertible, take part in beach blanket bingo and other fun in the sun activities and be served by some of the most handsome cabana boys ever to take Manhattan. Last night, Saturday, May 11, the restaurant at Hakkasan Las Vegas at MGM Grand was buzzing as it was packed with A-Listers who dined on the world-renowned Cantonese cuisine created by Michelin-star Chef Ho Chee Boon. Singer and songwriter Ke$ha threw a surprise birthday party for one of her creative directors in the private dining room. While Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer and wife Kayte Walsh along with actress Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Austin Butler of 'The Carrie Diaries' also dined at the restaurant for a mutual friend's birthday. Bingo, the Off-Broadway hit, will be making its Utah musical debut this May at The Grand Theatre. Written by Grammy-nominated songwriters Michael Heitzman and Ilene Reid, Bingo, the Winning Musical, is a splashy, zippy outrageously funny new musical.
Meadow Brook Theatre welcomes director David Edwards, who was part of the 'By Jeeves' Broadway cast. 'I was offered the job of standby for four of the leading roles,' explained Edwards. 'I had a great time with the show and I'm excited to bring that experience here to Meadow Brook Theatre's stage. 'By Jeeves', I thought, deserved another look, beyond Broadway, in a more intimate setting. A series of happy coincidences brought me to this marvelous group of collaborators at this wonderfully enterprising theatre.'
