The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) 2011-12 season continues with David Mamet's newest play, Race, directed by former CENTERSTAGE Artistic Director Irene Lewis. Fresh from a triumphant run on Broadway, Mamet's wicked and scathing courtroom comedy makes its West Coast premiere at A.C.T. With his trademark verbal pyrotechnics, Mamet unleashes two attorneys and the firm's young associate as they scramble to decide if they want to represent a wealthy white man accused of assaulting a black woman.

Tony Award winner Idina Menzel has a diverse career on stage and in film, television, and music. She recently appeared in the television hit Glee, and is currently on a sold-out tour, performing with leading orchestras around the country. In 2009 Ms. Menzel co- starred with Josh Groban in the concert version of Chess: The Musical, recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall and broadcast on PBS. In December 2005 she completed her role as the misunderstood Elphaba in Broadway's Wicked, for which she received a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Karl (Legally Blonde, Wicked) steps in the role of Tommy DeVito; Dominic Nolfi departed on September 25th. Direct from the national tour of JERSEY BOYS, VanAntwerp steps in the role of Bob Gaudio; Ryan Jesse departed October 9. The producers of JERSEY BOYS, the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning smash hit musical, are pleased to announce that Andy Karl and Quinn VanAntwerp will join the Broadway company on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Karl (Legally Blonde, Wicked) will step in the role of Tommy Devito following the departure of Dominic Nolfi on September 25th. Direct from the national tour of JERSEY BOYS, VanAntwerp will step in the role of Bob Gaudio following the departure of Ryan Jesse on October 9. Erik Bates will play the role of Tommy DeVito for performances September 27 through October 9.

PCPA Theaterfest to Present US Premiere of Schwartz's MY FAIRYTALE 8/12-8/19

Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts Theaterfest is pleased to present the American Premiere of My Fairytale, a musical about Hans Christian Andersen. Tony Award winning performer Idina Menzel, best known for her roles in Wicked, Rent and Glee, has just added a new date to her tour and will be performing in concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on October 6, Baz Bamigboye has just reported in the UK Daily Mail. Ticket sales officially launch Saturday, June 18. This engagement preceeds a new US tour the songstress is launching in Philadelphia in November, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Menzel will be touring the country in concert with local symphonies.
