Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and Managing Director Beth Brown are proud to announce Nightwood Theatre's 2018/19 season. In our penultimate season before our 40th anniversary, we have assembled an ambitious lineup of some of the most dynamic female voices working in theatre today. Nightwood is proud to support and partner with an ever-burgeoning community of artists and like-minded arts organizations to develop high-caliber contemporary theatre.

The Atlanta Opera closes its 2017-18 mainstage season with Stephen Sondheim's seminal musical, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. This production of Sweeney Todd remains faithful to the original Broadway show, and features an all-star cast, including Michael Mayes in his role debut as Sweeney Todd, and Maria Zifchak as Mrs. Lovett. Timothy Myers will conduct in a company debut, and Albert Sherman, who has directed Sweeney Todd under the mentorship of Harold Prince, will serve as production director.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that they will present the 2018 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to three outstanding contributors to the Broadway industry - New York Times' culture photographer Sara Krulwich, costume beader, Bessie Nelson, and the Ernest Winzer Cleaners.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces four TFANA Talks in connection with its new, critically lauded production of William Shakespeare's tragicomedy The Winter's Tale, directed by OBIE Award-winner Arin Arbus. These free post-performance discussions take placeat Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place), TFANA's home in the Brooklyn Cultural District, where The Winter's Tale runs through April 15

Second Street Players proudly presents The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance. Performance dates are April 13th, 14th, 15th 20th, 21st, 22nd. Curtain is at 7pm for the Friday and Saturday shows and 2pm for the Sunday shows.

From Wednesday, May 2 through Sunday, May 20, BAMcinématek presents A Different Picture: Women Filmmakers in the New Hollywood Era, 1967—1980. A counter-narrative to the traditional macho mythology of the New Hollywood era, this series seeks to correct a historical wrong. As programmer Jesse Trussell explains, “This series is a redress to the established Easy Riders and Raging Bulls narratives; women from coast to coast radically altering film form, film subject and film power structures.” This series spotlights the prodigious work of female filmmakers in the United States from 1967—1980; films made both inside and outside of the Hollywood system and encompassing a wide array of genres from comedy to drama, art house to exploitation.

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center is happy to announce the full line-up of its annual PEN World Voices International Play Festival. As part of the 2018 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, the International Play Festival will showcase play readings by ten voices from around the globe. With playwrights hailing from four different continents, the Festival aims to enrich awareness of global dialogues, by bridging American audiences and international theatre-makers. All readings will be followed by discussion with the playwrights and directors.

Creative Cauldron presents Witch, the fourth installment in its "Bold New Works for Intimate Stages" world premiere musical series written and composed by the internationally recognized creative team Matt Conner and Stephen Gregory Smith. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full cast and creative team for the world-premiere musical Snow Child, based on Eowyn Ivey's Pulitzer Prize-nominated novel. Infused with a score that combines Alaskan string band-traditions with contemporary musical theater, Snow Child follows a couple rebuilding their lives in the Alaskan wilderness when they meet a magical and mysterious snow child who transforms them.

San Francisco's 42nd Street Moon (Daren A.C. Carollo and Daniel Thomas, Co-Executive Directors), currently celebrating its 25thAnniversary in continuous operation, has announced the show titles for its upcoming 2018-2019 season. The 2018-2019 season will include THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS (October 3 - 21, 2018), DAMES AT SEA (November 28 - December 16, 2018), FIORELLO! (February 27 - March 17, 2019), 110 IN THE SHADE(April 24 - May 12, 2019), ONCE (June 12 - 30, 2019) and THE OLDEST LIVING CATER WAITER (performances begin June 23, 2019).
