The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra today announced that stage and screen star Mandy Patinkin just withdrew from an upcoming appearance on January 22, 2015 due to a scheduling conflict with an upcoming Broadway production. Patinkin has been replaced by Jason Alexander in the program, which will be held at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Which show Patinkin will return to Broadway in has yet to be announced.

The Old Globe today announced additional performances for the second production of the 2014 Summer Season, Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods, which made its World Premiere at The Old Globe in 1986. The production is an inventive reimagining by Fiasco Theater, directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, in a production that originated at McCarter Theatre Center. By popular demand, it will now play through Sunday, August 17. Tickets for the extension will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 29 at noon.

The frighteningly funny farce "The Mystery of Irma Vep- A Penny Dreadful" by Charles Ludlam opens July 30 at Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon. The Drama Desk-and Obie Award-winning comedy is a true mix of Victorian gothic romance and Universal monster movies.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces an extension of In the Garden: A Darwinian Love Story, the World-Premiere production by Artistic Associate Sara Gmitter and directed by Jessica Thebus. The show now runs through Sunday, June 29, 2014. The two-week extension goes on sale to the public on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Thirty years after Sunday won two Tony Awards, numerous Drama Desk Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for drama, EPAC will once again reinvent a modern classic.
