"Baby" tells the story of three couples on a university campus as they deal with the painful, rewarding and agonizingly funny consequences of this universal experience. There are the college students, barely at the beginning of their adult lives; the 30-somethings, having trouble conceiving but determined to try; and the middle aged parents, looking forward to seeing their last child graduate from college when a night of unexpected passion lands them back where they started.

Award-winning Brooklyn ensemble the TEAM will present PRIMER FOR A FAILED SUPERPOWER, a two-night-only concert event featuring a multigenerational band of teenagers, TEAM performers, and Baby Boomers, directed by the TEAM's Artistic Director and Tony Award nominee Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812).
Drama Learning Center's professional training program for emerging young artists will present the area premiere of Cry-Baby the Musical this June. Adapted from the cult classic 1990 John Waters film, Cry-Baby follows the star-crossed teen romance between delinquent Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker and the rich and square Allison Vernon-Williams in 1950's Baltimore. Recently, local photographer Bruce F Press went on location to Clark's Elioak Farm to capture images around the original Enchanted Forest attractions. Despite what I consider to be flaws in the book (by Sybille Pearson) and lyrics (by Richard Maltby, Jr.), the show is well worth seeing; David Shire's music is engaging and CVRep has mounted an excellent production.
