Nominated for four 2015 Tony Awards, On the Town is still going strong at the Lyric Theatre, but this week the cast begins a pre-scheduled week off. BroadwayWorld has learned that performances May 7-12 have been canceled so that the theatre can host NYC upfronts for Univision Communications Inc. Performances will resume on May 13.

59E59 Theaters will welcome acclaimed actor Edward Petherbridge to Brits Off Broadway in MY PERFECT MIND, created by Told by an Idiot, written by Kathryn Hunter, Paul Hunter and Edward Petherbridge, directed by Kathryn Hunter. Produced by Told by an Idiot, Young Vic, and Theatre Royal Plymouth, MY PERFECT MIND begins performances on Wednesday, June 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 28.  Press opening is Tuesday, June 16 at 7 PM.  The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7 PM; Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM; and Sunday at 3 PM. Please note, there is an additional performance on Sunday, June 21 at 7 PM. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). X Factor star, Amelia Lily (playing Whatshername), will star in Green Day's explosive, award-winning Broadway musical American Idiot, as it blasts into the UK for its West End premiere from the 17 July at The Arts Theatre, Leicester Square. Running until 27 September 2015, with press night on 22 July, American Idiot - The Musical features the music of Green Day with the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer. The musical is being directed and choreographed by Racky Plews, with sound by Chris Whybrow, design by Sara Perks and lighting by Tim Deiling. Further casting will be announced in due course.

David Mirvish is extending for the final time the Toronto production of the Tony Award-winning 'Best Musical' ONCE. The production, which began performances at the Ed Mirvish Theatre on February 10, 2015, will now play until June 28. But the show must leave the Ed Mirvish Theatre on that day because Disney's production of NEWSIES moves into the venue the following week.

Berkeley Playhouse at the historic Julia Morgan Theater continues their seventh season with Hairspray, directed by Producing Artistic Director Daren A.C. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Darren Criss will return to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, for a limited 12-week engagement starting Wednesday, April 29 at the Belasco Theatre. As previously announced John Cameron Mitchell will play his final performance as Hedwig on Sunday, April 26. Additionally, Rebecca Naomi Jones (American Idiot, Passing Strange), will join the cast, in the role of Yitzhak, beginning Tuesday April 14 at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).
