Columbia Pictures has debuted the second domestic trailer for ANNIE, hitting theaters on December 19th.

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the 2014 Next Wave Festival. The festival runs from September 9 through December 20 and comprises theater, music, dance, film, humanities, and visual art events in the institution's three venues: the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, the BAM Harvey Theater, and the BAM Fisher.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, in a new version by Annie Baker. Winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for The Flick, Baker earned rave reviews for her version of Chekhov's classic drama, which enjoyed its sold-out world premiere at New York's Soho Rep. in 2012.

School may be out for the summer, but class is in session at the Baylor University Department of Theatre Arts. Graduate students Cason Murphy and Nick Hoenshell are taking on the directorial responsibilities of this year's line-up-Eric Overmyer's On the Verge and Annie Baker's The Aliens-which will run back-to-back for two weekends during starting June 19.

Tonight, May 24th, 2014, The Boston Teen Acting Troupe will present a World Premiere staged reading of ANNIE DOESN'T LIVE HERE by local playwright MJ Halberstadt. This reading will be produced, directed and acted entirely by teenagers. The reading will be directed by Jack Serio and performed in The Boston Center for The Arts Plaza Theatre. The National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) congratulates the 50th class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, announced today by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The 20 Scholars in the Arts, all 2014 YoungArts Winners, were nominated to The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars by YoungArts, and selected based on academic, civic and artistic achievement.
