The Playmakers have been awarded one of the Oklahoma Community Theatre Association's highest honors, the OCTA Vision award. It was given for the planning and implementation of The Playmakers' comprehensive youth theatre program. In 2006, The Playmakers won OCTA's coveted 'Community Theatre of the Year' award.

Women's Project, the 32-year-old non-profit theater dedicated to producing plays written and directed by women, will increase main stage production next season by 50%. The theater's board of directors authorized Julie Crosby, producing artistic director, to increase main stage productions from two to three at the company's Julia Miles Theater on West 55th Street.

The two stars, who sold out individual appearances at the club earlier this season, are collaborating onstage for the first time.

Elton John will close his Las Vegas Strip Show 'The Red Piano' on April 22. The show first opened in February of 2004 at the Colosseum theater at Caesars Palace and was extended past the original 75 show commitment. The closing show will be the 241st performance. New York Philharmonic Music Director Designate Alan Gilbert will lead the New York Philharmonic in five free concerts this summer throughout the City of New York, from July 14 to 20.
