Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) has announced that Tony® award winner Mary-Louise Parker (Hedda Gabler), Tony® award winner Michael Cerveris (Jorgen Tesman), Paul Sparks (Ejlert Lovborg) and Peter Stormare (Judge Brack) in a new Broadway production of Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen. The production features a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn and will be directed by Ian Rickson.

Hedda Gabler will begin previews on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 and open officially on Sunday, January 25th, 2009 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street). This will be a limited engagement.

The Los Angeles premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Schenkkan's By the Waters of Babylon brings two award-winning, long-time theater actors to the Geffen stage for the first time: Demián Bichir and Shannon Cochran. Bichir, who is currently starring as Mary Louise-Parker's love interest on Showtime's Weeds, will play the role of Arturo, a Cuban immigrant who is hired to (coincidentally) weed the garden of unconventional Austin widow Catherine. Cochran, who will star as Catherine, is straight from Chicago where she starred in sold out performances of The Lion in Winter at the Writers Theatre.

Directed by Dexter Bullard (Bug), the critically acclaimed production is being produced in association with Barrow Street Theatre. Performances began Thursday, August 28th, 2008. Opening night was Monday, September 8th at 7pm. The show will run now run through Saturday, October 11, 2008.

The Boston Globe reports 'Nice Work If You Can Get It,' the musical starring Harry Connick, Jr. has postponed its engagement at Boston's Colonial Theatre, December 16-January 11. No official statement has been issued.

Jean Doumanian Productions is partnering with Barrow Street Theatre to develop new plays and musicals, explore international markets and elevate the profiles of individual artists in a concerted effort to bring new work to Off-Broadway.

Theater Oobleck's acclaimed production of Mickle Maher's The Strangerer will conclude an extended Chicago run on June 29 before taking the show to New York for performances at the Barrow Street Theatre in the West Village, beginning July 9, 2008. Produced by Theater Oobleck, in association with the Barrow Street Theatre, the production is slated for an initial six-week run and will feature original Chicago cast members Guy Massey, Mickle Maher, Colm O'Reilly, and Brian Shaw. Grammy Award and Emmy Award winner and two-time Tony Award nominee Harry Connick, Jr. will return to Broadway in Spring 2009 in Nice Work If You Can Get It, a new musical comedy with music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, and book by Joe DiPietro ( I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, All Shook Up). Two-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (The Pajama Game, Wonderful Town) will direct and choreograph.

The production, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, will open on Sunday, April 6 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, April 20.

New Rep On Tour will close its eighth season with a three-player adaptation of Edmund Rostand's Masterpiece, Cyrano. Over five weeks, beginning March 4, 2008, the Tour will travel to over 20 Boston area schools and reach over 7,000 students.
