Fort Worth Opera Presents 2013 New Works Showcase FRONTIERS, 5/6-11

Fort Worth Opera revealed today the names of the composers whose works have been selected for participation in the first season of the company's exciting, annual new works program, Frontiers, making its debut May 6 - 11, 2013. The showcase will present eight unpublished works by composers from the Americas during the last week of the 2013 Opera Festival in the McDavid Studio across from Bass Hall in downtown Fort Worth.

The great Arturo O'Farrill will perform at 7:00 pm. Mexican-born pianist, composer, educator and winner of the Latin Jazz USA Outstanding Achievement Award for 2003, Arturo O'Farrill will heat things up in front of Louis's house!

Pace University has announced the 2012 / 2013 season of Pace Presents, hosted at The Michael Schimmel Center for The Arts located at 3 Spruce Street between Park Row and Gold Street in downtown Manhattan. Pace Presents is a world-class performing arts and culture series with an emphasis on music superstars from around the globe, charismatic and crowd-pleasing dance performances, spectacular theatre and contemporary cabaret. The Pace Presents season begins on September 22 with Gypsy brass superstars Fanfare Ciocarlia and culminates on April 20 with Jazz's living treasure, Hugh Masekela.

As previously reported, the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the longest-running show in Broadway history, welcomes Kara Klein to the show from today, June 18, in the role of Meg. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. and directed by Harold Prince, the musical phenomenon is in its unprecedented 25th year in New York, playing at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street).

A principal cast change has been announced for the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Current cast member Kara Klein will return to the role of inquisitive ballerina Meg Giry beginning Monday, June 18. Longtime cast member and 'Phan' favorite Heather McFadden will play her final performance as Meg this coming Saturday, June 16.

After last year's sold-out, earthquake relief fundraising performances, AYIKODANS returns to South Florida to once again thrill audiences with the world premiere of "Anmwey Haiti Manman" (Cry Haiti Mother), a moving piece commissioned by the Arsht Center, and "Danse de L'Araignee" (Dance of the Spider), created by the company's founder and choreographer, Jeanguy Saintus.
