Today's subject Laura Giannarelli has been living her theatre life for many years now on both sides of the footlights. As a performer she just completed a star turn in Gulf View Drive at Washington Stage Guild (WSG), the company she helped found back in 1986. The company's current show Resolving Hedda runs through April 14th at their home at The Undercroft Theatre at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church.

As Theatre Memphis looks toward its 100th anniversary in the 2020-21 season, it has made its play selections for an upcoming abbreviated season to run through 2019 to accommodate the expansion and upgrade plans to the facility to celebrate the century mark.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada today announced the lineup of Cannon Dolls for The Nutcracker. New Dance Alliance is pleased to announce the lineup for the 32nd annual Performance Mix Festival. “The most elaborate festival of the unpredictable” (The New York Times), the 2018 edition brings together more than 30 artists with diverse approaches to performance, inviting audiences to engage with the unexpected and to experience some of the newest voices in experimental dance. This year's festival also includes Performance Mix's annual community breakfast, a free movement workshop, and other special events. The festival runs June 7?10, 2018, at The Performance Project at University Settlement. Performance Mix is curated by New Dance Alliance Founder and Director Karen Bernard.

Vencl Dance returns to Graham Center of Contemporary Dance June 21-23 with 'Critical Junctures,' an evening of contemporary modern dance by Susan Vencl with music by Arlene Sierra. The concert premiers 'Intersections,' a 35 minute sextet, and presents a 33 minute reconstruction of Vencl's 2016 meditation on randomness and unpredictability, 'Long Before Afterward.'

The Oakland University School of Music, Theatre and Dance recently honored some of its top student performers and distinguished alumni during the 19th annual MaTilDa Awards, which took place on Monday, April 16 in the Oakland Center Banquet Room.
