In celebration of the richly diverse American melting pot, Asolo Rep will host its second annual documentary theatre project Faces of Change: Growing America. The original play will explore the experiences of local immigrants - their arduous journeys, daily struggles and triumphs, and what it truly means to be an American immigrant in 2014. Faces of Change will be tonight and tomorrow, March 21 and 22 at 7:30pm in Asolo Rep's Cook Theatre.
South By Southwest (SXSW) is best known for its music and introduction to many indie bands. While in Austin, Texas, you get a chance to meet many interesting and talented people. One such group of people were a band called Cheer Elephant. Their music has been described as 'a tight, rootsy, psychedelic poprock quartet' And their harmonies have been compared to the Beatles. Here's what the band had to say when I caught up with them while they were visiting SXSW this year.

Curio Theatre Company continues its season with Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa. This TONY Award winner runs February 13-March 15. Opening night is Friday, February 21 at 8 p.m. All performances run Thursday-Saturday night at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $25-$20. Red Bull Theater presents the Off Broadway revival of Loot by Joe Orton. Red Bull Artistic Director Jesse Berger directs a company that includes Rebecca Brooksher (Fay), Eric Martin Brown (Meadows), Jarlath Conroy (McLeavy), Ryan Garbayo (Dennis), Rocco Sisto (Truscott), and Nick Westrate (Hal). Loot has scenic design by Narelle Sissons, costume design by Sara Jean Tosetti, lighting design by Scott Zielinski, and sound design by Brad Berridge. Opening Thursday January 16th, this limited engagement continues through February 9th only at Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street).
Full casting was announced today for the new production of Brian Friel's Translations, which will open at Sheffield Theatres on February 17, as part of a season of work dedicated to Friel, before travelling to Cambridge, Exeter, Newcastle, Oxford, Ipswich and culminating at the Rose Theatre Kingston from 22 April - 3 May.

Following an extensive search process, PICT Theatre's board of directors has appointed Alan Stanford as the company's producing artistic director. Stanford has been serving as the interim producing artistic director since February. Board president Eugene O'Sullivan said, "We were fortunate to find someone of Alan's caliber to lead this organization at a most critical time. His experience as well as his performance in the intervening months proved he was the best of all of the candidates for the job."

Atlantic recording artist Cody Simpson has revealed details of his anticipated new album. 'SURFERS PARADISE' which follows the Australian-born pop star's 2012 debut, 'PARADISE' arrives everywhere on July 16th. 'Surfers Paradise is basically the most famous area on the Gold Coast of Australia, where I am from,' explains Simpson. 'I think this album really represents that piece of me, my lifestyle, and where I come from. When making my first album 'Paradise' it was sort of a journey to find myself as a young adult & artist. With 'Surfers Paradise' the entire process felt more natural and comfortable, like being back home. I wanted to share that feeling with my fans.'

The Guthrie Theater today announced that stage, film and television actor T.R. Knight will appear in BEHOLD: A Gala Performance celebrating the Guthrie's 50th anniversary on June 22, 2013. Knight will return to the Guthrie--where he first appeared onstage at the age of five and was subsequently featured in productions including Ah, Wilderness! and Amadeus--for the first time since becoming a national presence on Broadway and Off-Broadway stages and in the television program "Grey's Anatomy." He is currently featured as Harold Parrott in the newly released feature film 42 about the life story of Brooklyn Dodgers player Jackie Robinson.
