When this gleefully malicious comedy about New York society matrons premiered on Broadway, audiences were shocked, outraged and delighted. Featuring an all-female cast and some of the funniest dialogue ever written for the American stage, The Women offers a fascinating inside look at the catty world of Park Avenue society. This deliciously nasty tale of a woman whose happy marriage is destroyed by the gossip of her friends has been called one of the great American plays of the 20th century.

BWW Blog: Eric Ulloa of Goodspeed's THE MOST HAPPY FELLA on Bill Nolte - A Wonderful Guy
by Guest Blogger: Eric Ulloa - Sep 17, 2013

Sometimes the stars align and the universe grants us the rare opportunity to see an actor in a role that they were born to play one day. To say that Bill Nolte is 'Tony Esposito' is the understatement of the year. If you don't get misty eyed during his 'Mama, Mama' or in the last 15 minutes of this show, I will buy you a drink at the Gelston House after the show (Hey Goodspeed, I can borrow that corporate credit card just in case right?). Bill is also one hell of a great guy and someone you'd just love to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine with for the stories alone. So without further ado, I give you my interview with 'the most happy fella' himself, Mr. Bill Nolte.

New Federal Theatre's 44th Season to Feature Ed Bullin's IN THE WINE TIME & THE FABULOUS MISS MARIE
by Tyler Peterson - Sep 17, 2013

Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre kicks off its 44th season with 'The Ed Bullins Project' - two revivals from his 'Twentieth Century Cycle of Plays' - In The Wine Time and The Fabulous Miss Marie. Bullins, winner of the prestigious NY Drama Critics' Circle Award and OBIE Award for The Taking of Miss Janie, has greatly influenced American theatre, especially Black theatre. His work, characterized by disdain for ineffective political rhetoric as a substitute for action, most often examines the lives of Black people in the inner city. In 1968, Clive Barnes, writing in the New York Times called Bullins 'a welcome addition to the ranks of New York playwrights.' Four years later, Barnes added 'Bullins writes the way Charlie Parker played: It is all so easy and effortless. It sounds improvised, and yet it doesn't sound improvised, simply because it is the improvisation of formality.' Today, Bullins is regarded as a seminal force in the American theater.
