The Kennedy Center Honors announced today that its honorees for 2017 will be actress, dancer and choreographer Carmen de Lavallade, singer-songwriter and actress Gloria Estefan, hip hop artist LL COOL J, television writer and producer Norman Lear and renowned musician and record producer Lionel Richie.

The Curran and Stanford Live at Stanford University, in association with Magic Theatre and Pomegranate Arts, announced today tickets for Taylor Mac's groundbreaking performance art concert A 24-DECADE HISTORY OF POPULAR MUSIC, will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, July 4th at 10:00am PT.

Taylor Mac will perform A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, the singular artist's 24-hour performance art concert, in its entirety in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

 The true story of Henrietta Swan Leavitt, one of the historic 'computer ladies' at Harvard's observatory in the early 20th century. Despite never being allowed to use the telescope, Henrietta made ground-breaking discoveries that shook the foundations of astronomy and made possible the work of Dr. Edwin Hubble and every astronomer to follow. Alternately poignant and funny, Silent Sky is a sweet, surprising look at one of the long-forgotten women of history.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced its 2017/18 season to a packed house in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre earlier this evening. The Orchestra's third annual, free Season Preview Concert once again featured the entire orchestra onstage performing selected excerpts, with emcee Music Director Ward Stare joined for the first time by Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik. The Tony-nominated director Eleanor Reissa is set to helm New Yiddish Rep's contemporary staging of Sholem Asch's notorious drama 'God of Vengeance' at La MaMa this winter. The Yiddish language production's Off-Broadway opening is on Christmas Day, Sunday December 25 at 7:30pm with previews beginning Thursday December 22.  It will run for five weeks and 33 performances through Sunday January 22.

Agatha Christie's 1922 thriller The Secret Adversary will receive its world stage premiere at The Watermill Theatre on 12 February 2015 where it will play for 44 performances, prior to a six-week national tour. Introducing crime-fighting duo Tommy and Tuppence to the stage for the very first time, The Secret Adversary will be brought to life in a new adaptation by Sarah Punshon and Johann Hari. Tickets go on sale at The Watermill Theatre from 10 November 2014.
