Multi Grammy Award-nominee violinist Philippe Quint celebrates his new album Chaplin's Smile, out Friday, January 11, 2019 on Warner Classics, with a international tour of concerts commemorating Charlie Chaplin's compositional talents as well as his encounters with the great composers of his day.

On Friday, January 11, 2019, multiple Grammy Award-nominated violinist Philippe Quint makes his debut on Warner Classics with the release of his latest album Chaplin's Smile, a collection of Charlie Chaplin songs newly arranged for violin and piano. To commemorate the 130th anniversary of Chaplin's birth in 2019, Chaplin's Smile features Philippe Quint joined on two tracks by Quint's friend and frequent collaborator, violinist Joshua Bell. Over more than three years, Quint, in collaboration with arrangers Charles Coleman and Leon Gurvitch went through dozens of songs and soundtracks written by Chaplin to select the songs best suited for violin and piano.

Cabaret is a 1966 musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff. The original Broadway production became such a hit it inspired several productions and revivals in New York and premiered in London's West End in 1968. Cabaret, the film, was produced in 1972, directed by Bob Fosse, and starred Liza Minnelli, Michael York, and Joel Grey. The film is particularly known for Liza Minnelli's rendition of 'Cabaret', a song she would come to sing in concert halls worldwide. It became her trademark.

New Amsterdam Singers (NAS), led by Music Director Clara Longstreth, launches its 2018-19 season with a program of little-known psalm settings, most written for double chorus, by composers from different centuries. A-Y/dancers,  a new company with a repertoire committed to the preservation of classical modern dance and the creation of emerging choreography, debuts with their first evening of dance in the Hudson Valley, October 13-14at the Howland Cultural Center. BEDLAM announces the new production of UNCLE ROMEO VANYA JULIET. This new theatrical mashup of ROMEO & JULIET and UNCLE VANYA will kick off Bedlam's 2018/2019 season instead of the previously announced ROMEO & JULIET and UNCLE VANYA in repertory. The Mississippi Museum of Art (the Museum) announces that it will present Jeffrey Gibson: Like A Hammer, the first major survey of work by contemporary artist Jeffrey Gibson (b. 1972), from September 8, 2018 through January 27, 2019, in its Gertrude C. Ford Galleries for the Permanent Collection. Organized by and currently on view at the Denver Art Museum (DAM), Like A Hammer showcases Gibson's acclaimed multi-disciplinary work from 2011 to the present. Bradshaw, today announces the complete cast for Toshiki Okada's Time's Journey Through a Room, marking PlayCo's third collaboration with Okada, translator Aya Ogawa, and director Dan Rothenberg, May 10 - June 10, 2018. This haunting play, set in post-Fukushima Japan, will star three Japanese born performers, all of whom are now based in New York: Yuki Kawahisa (Honoka), Maho Honda (Arisa) and Kensaku Shinohara (Kazuki). The play is both an intimate examination of how we move forward from life-altering events, and a study of how we experience time, asking whether we can ever be alive to the present moment.
