Tony Award nominee and Elliot Norton Award winner John Douglas Thompson revives his Tony-nominated role in a staged reading of Jitney as a benefit for the Front Porch Arts Collective, Boston's newest Black theatre company. The reading will take place at the South End/Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA (527 Tremont St., Boston) on Monday, September 16 at 6:30pm. Bay Street Theater and Guild Hall, in association with Jamie Cesa and Bel Chiasso Entertainment present a free concert staged reading of The Romeo & Juliet Project, a new musical, featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, with book by Bradley Bredeweg. This FREE community event will be held in Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, NY on August 16 and 17 at 7 pm and is the latest installment of Bay Street's ongoing Under the Stars Community Outreach Program. The performance is directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director.

Today, D23, the official Disney fan club, has announced the eleven recipients for the 2019 Disney Legends Award. Originally scheduled to play its final performance on December 8,  2018, WHAT TO SEND UP WHEN IT GOES DOWN will now play an additional week through December 16, 2018.

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) today announced the 2018 honorees to be recognized at the 21st annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, taking place Oct. 27-Nov. 3. The Movement Theatre Company announces the World Premiere production of WHAT TO SEND UP WHEN IT GOES DOWN

In what promises to be an exciting event within the Pinter at the Pinter season, Lee Evans will appear in an eclectic mixed bill alongside stage and screen favourite Meera Syal. They join the previously announced Keith Allen and Tamsin Greig from 25th October to 8th December, for 23 performances only.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

When her ship is wrecked, Viola washes ashore in the unfamiliar land of Illyria and embarks on a journey to find her lost brother. Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will host Druid, Ireland's most celebrated theatre company, and their critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot. Directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes, Druid's production of Samuel Beckett's absurd, anarchic masterpiece will make its regional premiere at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from April 17 through May 20, 2018 before it travels on to Chicago.
